In 2017 at the 89th Academy Awards, if Denzel Washington won the Best Actor for Fences (2016), he would become only the seventh person to win an acting Oscar three times or more. He has a prior Best Supporting Actor win for Glory (1989) and a Best Lead Actor win for Training Day (2001). The following are, as of mid-February, 2017, the only actors to have won three or more Oscars in acting categories.
