IMDb staff,
I've been doing extensive clean-ups across dozens and dozens of movies in the location management category. One big problem is explained in this declined submission:
Contribution #200722-185629-450000
Truth be told, I have an inkling that it was me who, a decade ago, made these redundant submissions that I'm now trying to delete. Back then, though, I had less understanding of the importance of matching on-screen credits, so I'm now trying to undo this.
To explain... somebody can get hired as a Location Scout and then credited as a Location Scout. But, somebody who is hired as an Assistant Location Manager or Location Manager is already assumed to be a Location Scout too. It's a job duty for those job positions. These 5 people were Assistant Location Managers who, by definition of that title, were also Location Scouts. Listing it separately is ridiculous (again, probably my fault from 10 years ago, not yours).
Hey, here's a dumb analogy. It'd be like listing somebody as the Key Grip (which was their on-screen credit), but then also separately listing them as Grip (uncredited). General grip work is, of course, a job duty of also being the department head Key Grip.
Anyway, could you please push through the contribution above?
Thank you!
Scott
