I am sure this film is set in Nebraska. The lead is a white female who has a recurring dream of a large native American walking towards her, the music is dread-filled. She sees him one day at a gas station, at which point an older white employee with an Electrolarynx (electric voice box) serves her and says "hey there little lady". There are scenes of her and her husband eating breakfast in a cold marriage. The state is depicted as quite vast and bleak.
I must have been quite young when I watched this. I think I may have just caught a glimpse before being sent to bed! I found it all very odd and fascinating, what I did see really stayed with me - I would love to find out what it is and watch the whole thing! I have described it to my partner so many times I'm sure she would too!
