Looking for a WW2 Movie Title

I am looking for the title of a WW2 movie that came out in 50/60's in color. Mostly remember the ending. A group of Nazis and their wives/girlfriends are at a fancy party. The Allies fire bomb the building where the party is taking place. Remember partygoers rushing to find a way out but too much smoke. A burning bridge? The Allies have backed the group into a corner. Staged an ambush. Believe not many survived on both sides. I asked my father, a lover of old movies, and he thinks it's "The Bridge on the River Kwai" but I think he is wrong.

The Dirty Dozen does have party scene at night at the end.  And almost everyone dies.  You might want to look at it again. Make sure you're not looking at one of the later TV sequels.

I usually never answer these queries, because there are too many variables. But this particular movie plot is identifiable only to this movie.
You described it so well that there was no other movie it could be.

And You're Welcome!
