I am not familiar with the context, but what about just rating them once you have watched them?

Hi Mark, I created my own "Watched List" in addition to my Watchlist.

After I view a movie on my Watchlist, I hover my mouse over the green check mark (the indicator that the movie is on your watchlist) and a "hover box" appears (a graphical control element - like another menu almost) and scroll down to whatever list I wish to add the film to (I made several lists), click, and the title will be added to that list!  A check mark appears on the chosen list.

To remove a title from any of your lists, click the check mark a second time.

To create your list, there are several ways.  Try this one: click on Watchlist.

The next screen you'll see is your Watchlist of titles.  On the right side of the screen, you'll see the text, Create a new list.

Click, then follow the instructions, and viola!  Your lists.

This is my Watched List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls025221659/

Hope this helps!
