Mars, on National Geographic, is an interesting series and I don't think the cast ordering guide. There are script dramatic sections but also sections of experts giving opinions about all kinds of things. In the beginning, the regular cast members are listed along with the guest cast for that episode. The question is where to put the experts named on screen? Do they begin directly after the guest cast? There is also an ending cast which is the co-stars for the episode.

Another question, is how do we get these credits listed correctly. Some credits should go under acting and some under self. This is the usual case of a documentary containing reenactment scenes. It is the reverse. It is fiction contain some documentary scenes.

Hi Adrian,

Are you saying that the regular and guest cast are listed at the bottom of the screen at the start of the episode, then the experts who are credited on screen, then additional cast members in the end credits? If so then list the regular and guest cast at the start of the episode first, then the experts in the order they appear credited on screen, then the additional cast members to reflect the on screen credit order.

The documentary genre is incorrect in this case, if you credit the person with the character name "himself/herself - " then their listed role then that automatically moves the credit to the self section of the name pages.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Will

You have it basically correct. There is a title sequences and the main and guest cast aren't really at the bottom of the screen but the rest is correct.

This is the way I credited the episode. Whoever put in the original credits completely ignored the experts, so I just wanted to make sure what I was doing was correct before continuing with the season.
