Henry “Hank” Cosby was a songwriter who was part of the Motown stable.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Cosby

There are two entries for this person -

  • Henry Cosby nm1691261
  • Hank Cosby nm3016444

The entries should be merged as they are obviously the one and same person.

I believe that ‘Hank’ should be merged into ‘Henry’, as Henry has the larger number of credits, which tends to indicate that this is the most common form of the name.

Is this the right step?

Graham: Yes, please submit a Name Correction to Hank Cosby, to change his name to Henry Cosby. I agree with you that using the more common version of his name is the best way to go.

During the submission process, please make sure the box labeled "Preserve previous name on existing credits. i.e. '(as Hank Cosby)'" is checked.

Thanks for catching this!
