Merging two actor listings

I have been entering/editing data for some short films, and one of the actors has his credits for both writer and actor strewn across two different listings (Robert Slaughter (III) and Robert Slaughter (IV)). They're all his credits, and I've tried different ways of joining these together, but it just keeps defeating me. Can anyone help?

Ishtari: Here is how to merge these two name pages.

Go to the page for the higher-roman-numeral version of his name, Robert Slaughter (IV), at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5413015/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Name Correction or Merge line, select "Add correction". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, there will be a blank space in which to enter his corrected name. Enter it as:
Slaughter, Robert (III)

Un-check the box marked "Preserve previous name on existing credits. i.e. '(as Robert Slaughter)'". It's not relevant in this case.

In the Explanation box, enter something like "Robert Slaughter (III) and Robert Slaughter (IV) are the same person, and so their pages need to be merged." If you can provide any links or other evidence to show that they are the same person, you can include that in the explanation too. Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will get a warning that says, "You are about to merge two separate name pages into one. Are you sure you want to merge this person with Slaughter, Robert (III)?" That's what you want, so check the box marked "Warning understood, go ahead anyway." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Allow a few days for the merge to go through. Good luck!
