Merging Two Events into One Event

Hi... I spotted an error that needs to be fixed by IMDb data editors (since I don't see an "update" button for it). This is the problem: there are 2 events listed, but it should be only 1 event (it's a duplicate with a slightly different title).

Event #1 is named "ATAS Foundation College Television Awards". Link to it: http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0001139/overview ...and event #2 is listed as "Academy of Television Arts and Sciences College Television Awards". Link to it: http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0002027/overview

This IS the SAME event and it should be merged. The official event title is: "ATAS Foundation College Television Awards" (the first one). Could you, please, merge these two - into one only?

Thanks.

Hi B.R Tatalovic,

Unfortunately at this stage we do not have the functionality to be able to merge two different events on the database.

The only way we are able to do this is with the help of contributors, such as yourself, and would involve adding the duplicated information from the second event to the first, and then requesting deletes from the second event stating in the reason for the deletes and what you are trying to do. It has to be done in this order as otherwise there is a risk of us losing some of the existing, valuable information.

Thanks
Meredith

I have now the same problem you just answered to B.R. Tatalovic, but my case is worse.

Huelva Latin American Film Festival (English translation of the event) has a background history of 49 years.
Link to it: http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000734/

Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva (Spanish official name of the event) has a background history of 4 years.
Link to it: http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0002053/

By the way, this link you have at the Huelva Festival is a fun place, but not the official site: http://www.festicinehuelva.es/

The Overview is mostly correct... at the English named page, and ridiculous insufficient at the rightly Spanish page.

Your advice to Tatalovic is simply not good enough for a situation involving an Event as vast as this, and I would not do it. I PLEAD instead for IMDb staff to perfect the administrator's software to allow them to merge events.
