Hi I am trying to merge two names that are for the same person on IMDB Pro. When you fill in the request it shows a box saying preserve previous credits is it ok to untick this box so that the wrong name has alll the credits removed from IMDB Pro. Basically if I merge the names and untick the box wil this keep my previous credits for the correct name or shouldI tick the box marked preserve previous credits. My issue is on my films that I have produced are still showing two credits for the same person. I have tried several times to remove these manually via the film page but they are still stuck on there.

If both filmography pages belong to you and you are credited under a different name for some of your credits, then yes, the box will need to be check-marked to retain those credits accurately. The only time the 'Preserve previous name on existing credits' box doesn't need to be checked is if you are credited under the same name for all credits, if this is the case you'll also need to acknowledge that you know what you're doing. The rest of the process proceeds as normal.
