I constantly post my ratings of films on the IMDb to keep track of all the titles I have seen, and to refer back to in case I need help finding a film or unearthing something I have forgotten.

Currently, my "Your Ratings" page can only sort films in the orders of Top Rated and Most Recent. However, I recall being able to track films based on the number of votes they have. I am now trying to plan a screening series of under-seen Canadian films, and it will be very time-consuming for me to go through every page to track down the films I need.

I want to know why there are fewer options to sort through ratings. I also recall being able to look at a film by genre, year of release, the star-rating (out of 10) I gave it. Today, I looked on both Safari and Firefox browsers, and nothing. Any idea where these options went?

They've been stripped away, never to return.  However, to compensate, the pages now have a cleaner, more modern look.

So a film database has eliminated or made it vastly more difficult for people to search for films? Isn't that counter-productive for an archive?

And how does making the pages "cleaner" or "more modern" count as an improvement? Were people actually finding the website too cluttered or archaic-looking?

I think the gist of the "improvements" is that functionality caused their servers to grind to a halt and made the company unprofitable, so the functionality had to go.  And that people who want functionality will have to pay for it via IMDbPro.
