Hi, I acted in the 2005 episode of Bones "The Man on Death Row" As April Wright. I got a trailer and was paid. I have been trying to claim my credit on IMDB since but it won't let me. I completed this job, and I would love to claim the credit for it. It's important to my resume. Please help 310 425 9532.

Hi Kendra -

Are you having difficulty submitting the credit?

Or have you submitted, but the data isn't processing?

Did you submit the request to add the credit via the online forms (by editing the page for that episode)? If so, do you have the most recent ID number for the request? If you could post it here, a member of IMDb staff might be able to check the status. Also, did you supply evidence? If you have it on video, could you supply a screen capture of your name in the onscreen credits, and submit it on the form for verification? http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_ver...

If you submit it on the forms and supply evidence, it should get listed.

A note to staff: I looked to see if the episode is available to see if there is evidence there and the link to that episode (on the episode's page) plays a different episode.

Edit to add, it seems there are two episodes shown on that page??

I will have the footage on my reel by tuesday. But that should not be why this isn't adding. I received a paycheck for this, they should have my information on file. I'm SAG.

More important than being paid would be evidence that your name appeared in the credits (though, if you were not credited onscreen, you could still receive IMDb credit as long as it says "(uncredited)"). So, was the role credited or uncredited? This is probably not clear in your submission and may be the reason it's not been accepted.

Kendra,
Fortunately, "Bones" The Man on Death Row (2005) [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0529899/f...] is available on Netflix streaming and Amazon.com streaming. It is also fortunate that you have credited roles as Kendra Rose Montagna [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2406383/].

Does your name appear in the credits for this episode? If so, when do your credits appear?
Do you have a copy of the call sheet for this episode?
When in the episode does Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) view the photographs? [Answered below]

Kendra,

I did not see your credits at the end on Netflix. So the best you can expect is to be included in the cast as uncredited. However, I was able to capture images of someone who looks like you.

Around 4:00

Around 4:02 The name April Wright is clearly visible. This is in the file folder for Howard Eps, the accused murder.

Around 7:45 The picture looks a lot like you.

Kendra, when you submit your credits include a link to this thread:
https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi...

Michelle, another IMDb staff member or one of the other IMDb champions (bluesmanSF, Emperor or pbn) should be able to help you with this information. I believe they could do a better job than I can at this point.

I see two potential problems with the way the credit was submitted, which I would suggest you address before resubmitting:

  1. You entered an order number of 1 with the credit. This means that your name was the first one in the cast credits of that episode. Since this is unlikely to be true (usually the stars of the shows receive top billing), this is likely to cause problem and possible rejections. If you know what is the order of your credit in the cast you should enter it. If not, leave that field empty
  2. Unless you are positive that you received on-screen billing (i.e. your name appears in the main or end credits of that episode), you should include 'uncredited' in the attribute field. From the description of the role, it doesn't look like you received on-screen billing. If you did, you should be prepared to provide verification via a screen grab of the portion of the main or end credits where your name appears.

Please try resubmitting the credit, keeping the above information in mind, and it should work.

Kendra,
A very knowledgeable, longtime contributor to the IMDb database sent me this private message. I defer to his expertise. I am truly sorry, if I've raised false hopes.
Hey Dan,

You and Giancarlo are giving Kendra false hope in regards to her credit in the episode titled "The Man on Death Row" of Bones Season One. The screencaps you provided prove that she's NOT eligible for credit. I just watched the episode on DVD to confirm, but the photograph shown in your screencap, and a couple more shown later at her parent's house represent the only appearance of Ms Montagna in this episode, and her name does NOT appear in the credits.

To be listed as cast, one must appear in person in the film. A photograph (or three) is not sufficient. See submission guide for cast, http://imdb.com/updates/guide/cast#ge..., particularly the section titled Animals and inanimate objects, where it states unequivocably
Corpses, paintings, still photographs, mummies, etc, should not be listed as cast members in any title
So, while Wilson the Volleyball can be added to titles where the volleyball appears, he can't be added to titles where only a photograph of the volleyball is seen onscreen. Nor can Kendra Montagna be added to cast when only her photograph appears onscreen.

That note also references mummies, and the exhumed remains of the character, April Wright, appear in the episode, but that dessicated corpse was not played by Kendra Montagna.

In short she's not eligible for an uncredited listing on this episode. The most she could hope for is a Trivia mention along the lines of:

Photographs of the victim, April Wright, appearing in this episode are of actress qv##nm2406383##.

Not sure how much of a difference it will make, but entering the trivia item with the link in place of the name should contribute to her STARmeter numbers when users go to that episode page.

Well I received credit on another project and was also in still shots, but, I don't know how imdb does it. I don't understand how one could get day player rate, have a trailer, have the episode centered around them and not be able to add the credit to their resume for a network show. How will anyone know I worked it? There's so many people that claim to do things and embellish. I work hard and you can see that's me, at least something uncredited would be nice.

Thanks for you help.

I think that falls under "other stuff exists" - just because someone has a credit for something doesn't set a precedent for getting others accepted, in fact that credit is wrong and should be removed but if you don't tell us what project it was then I won't ask.

How will anyone know I worked it?

Exactly the way you are doing now - through the IMDB Pro resume service. It is very useful for actors in your position who can list credits including ones that aren't eligible for inclusion on your main filmography.

What you want to focus on are adding credits for roles that are eligible - I assume that other Bones appearance can be submitted, for example. Best to focus on the high profile ones first, in fact we've had people on here who want some of their early credits removed (and others who won't add uncredited roles, because it can lead to that... extra smell, which can stop people getting better gigs) and the advantage of the resume is that you can easily remove unwanted credits as your acting career progresses (although it is always going to be a balancing act).
