Been an IMDB message board member for seven years, but in all that time, I've never been able to access my entire post history.

When I click "Show Older Posts" under "Your Boards Profile", it either shows me the exact same posts the previous page did, or else fails to load any posts.

I never really cared until I started posting regularly on some boards for television shows. Not being able to go back and review my previous posts on certain subjects is proving frustrating.

For instance, I posted frequently to The Walking Dead boards, but I can't even get my profile to acknowledge that I've ever posted there.

I know the posts are in there somewhere, cause the few posts I can see include all of my most recent posts, plus a few scattered posts from as many as five year ago. I just can't seem to get the site to acknowledge that any of them are there.

Not sure if this is where I ask for help on this, or if it's even resolvable, but I'd just appreciate some help.

Thanks!

Yes this is the right place, but no guarantees on whether it can be fixed. Something similar has been reported but I don't seem to recall there being a solution. If your old posts haven't been completely scrubbed then this is unlikely to be a sanction applied following reports, but is it possible this is just because of the general auto-purging of posts.

Can you post a link to your profile?

Mike: In the case of "The Walking Dead" (2010), the message board is so active over there that any thread that has not been posted on in the last four months or so has been expired and removed already. If your posts to that board were all from March 24, 2013 or earlier, then they would have been caught up in the auto-purge that Emperor mentioned (unless there were later posts in that thread after that date).

On the other hand, if you posted to the message board of some film or person which receives few posts to their message board, then your post there could remain for five years or longer.

There is no specifically stated formula as to how long posts will remain on any given message board.

Also the Walking Dead forum has been a bit of a warzone and so if you post on a thread and the original poster gets their messages scrubbed then they take the whole thread with them.

So there are a number of ways for posts to disappear, especially on that specific forum (active and a cesspit).

I am missing posts from 2015 - like all of it. I wanted to go directly to a Mr. Robot post from Season 1 but I can't access it. I don't really want to scroll through all the posts on the board. Mine literally skips entire years. 2015 seems to be one. 2012 as well. Irritating.

My understanding is that the IMDb message boards are not archival.   Inactive threads will eventually "expire" and be deleted after some period of time.

The cutoff time periods vary, depending on the board.   To find the current cutoff date on a board, you can go to the "last" page of the board and check the activity date of the oldest thread.   (Note:  After doing that, you can also edit the URL to increase the page number by one more, because some boards may one additional "hidden" oldest page that may not be shown in the page number list.)

At the time of this reply on Sept. 23 2016, all "Mr. Robot"  board threads that have been inactive since before May 12 2016 may be gone.   AFAIK, there is no way to retrieve them.

Same here! I just recently posted on The Walking Dead like 2 weeks ago and I started the entire thread, yet my posting history shows nothing. Matter of fact, over the years I have posted on TWD board many many times, but not even one show up in my history. I am a regular message board poster here on IMDB and have been for years...and I know for a fact that a whole lot of my posts are not showing. There has to be something that can be done about that.
