I live in Mexico and sometimes movie titles appear to me in Spanish. I prefer to search for them in English, but even though I changed my configuration to say that I live in USA and that I want movie titles in that language, sometimes some of them appear in Spanish. What can I do? I'm talking about USA titles exclusively, instead of "Lord of War" I get "Hompre peligroso".

Hi Jose -

If you have set your site preferences to display titles in the English Language, as long as you are logged into your IMDb account you should always see the English language title.  If you are not logged into your account and accessing the site, your preferences will not be recognized.

Please try accessing the site again and make sure that you are logged into your IMDb account. Otherwise, if you still have trouble let us know.

Hi Jose, I know you mentioned that your preferences are set to English, can you check your site preferences again here: https://secure.imdb.com/register-imdb/siteprefs and make sure that they are set to the following:

If your settings match the above and you are still seeing the Spanish language title, can you let us know what title page you are looking at?  Thanks!

Yes. They match that configuration but still some titles appear in Spanish.
For example, if I get into Woody Allen's filmography as director, Midnight in Paris appears as Medianoche en París, and Love and Death as Amor y muerte: la ultima noche de Boris Grushenko.

If I go to Nicolas Cage fimography, Lord of War appears as Hombre peligroso, City of Angels as Un ángel enamorado.

Hi Jose, thanks for confirming and providing some additional title examples.  I have alerted our staff who will take a look as soon as they can.  Once I hear any information from them I will post it here.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Titles Translated.

I have posted about this before, but the problems keeps happening: though I have set my preference to see titles in English, I keep seeing them translated to Portuguese (since I am in Brazil). I tried to use "http://akas.imdb.com", but I still get titles translated. It is really annoying!

Maybe your signing info is about your IP adress. You could use a VPN program. They're free and there's a lot of options to generate a "Virtual IP" like you get in the USA.

Greetings
