Hi.

The guide for Music department ( https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/music-department/G9QPJV4FV85BRM7X?ref_=helpms_helpart_inline# ) says:

If a title is present, the credit should be:
- Added (only) to the soundtrack list instead.
- A name may also appear in the soundtrack listing, but to qualify for the music department list there must be at least one credit with no song or music title.

I have one TV (live music) special, where several people are credited with "Music Arrangers" in the end credits (there are no "original" songs included, only older songs with some new music arrangements). Think of a song like "The Lady Is a Tramp" performed on stage with a new arrangement and you get the picture.

Anyway, one person is credited as "Conductor" and "Music Arranger" and he doesn't have any actual song titles listed with his credits. I assume that he arranged some songs for this particular concert, but I can't be sure. The person is a musical leader of the production, though.

Then there are other "Music Arranger" credits that are listed WITH the actual songs they arranged (some probably years ago, since at least one person has already deceased before the concert was held).

So the question: Should I add this main arranger (only) to "Music Department" with the job title "Music Arranger", since he doesn't have any actual songs listed with his credit?

AND then others (Music Arrangers) only to Soundtrack Department (based on the quote from the guide - IF I understand it correctly)?

Thanks.

Hi Eboy -

Yes, that process sounds correct.  If the individual is credited as "Music Arranger" without any song titles listed, then this would be a Music Dept. credit, the others that are credited as "Music Arranger" with song titles should then be listed in the Soundtrack section.
