I can't reorder my list (or any lists on IMDb) like before. When I try to save my changes, they doesn't come up. Instead of that, always appears the list by IMDb default.

Hi Serge,

I tried but was unable to reproduce the issue you mentioned.

You should be able to edit your Lists by clicking on 'Edit list', then making any changes to order and description or clicking on 'Change list settings' to change privacy and default list order, then selecting 'Done' to save your changes.

Could you provide more description of the issue you are facing?

Hi. Thank you so much for answer me. I have that issue, I did that you said, but when I press 'Done', the changes only save for a while. When I come back to the list or reload the page, my list (or any) is on default again :/. It didn't happen before...

Thank you for your reply Serge.

You will be able to set the default list settings by completing the following:

1. Click on 'Your Lists' in the top left dropdown
2. Select the list you want to edit
3. Select 'Edit list' in the top left
4. Click on 'Default sort order' and choose your preferred default order. This will save your settings.
5. Click 'Done'

Let us know if you are still having trouble!

Hi Serge911,

Our apologies that you are still encountering this. I've tested this as well and confirmed that the changes are saving in list default order even after reloading lists and logging in and off. Can you please confirm that when you are attempting to change your list settings this windows pops up:

Can you also confirm that the 'Settings changed' shown in red circle above is showing after you make your  default sort order change? Lastly have you tried to do the instructions that Steve provided above, on a different browser? Specific Chrome or Firefox? And if so do you see that the change save them?

Providing this information will assist us in reporting this to our technical team.

Best,
Kurt

Kurt and Steve,

I am having the exactly problem as Serge. I have gone through the process as Steve described. To the letter. After doing so, the list order is saved only for as long as I stay logged into IMDb. But when I log out and then re-log in back in, the visible list order reverts back to the Default sort order "List Order (ascending)" and the Default list view (detail).

This is a problem, since I prefer to set my view preferences at "Title A-Z" and "compact"

Like Serge, I have attempted to change these list settings at least a half dozen times. My preferred setting just will not stick.

For Kurt's benefit, I will include a screenshot of the menu after I have attempted to change the settings.

In addition — every time I log off, I get an IMDb yellow error message: "404 ERROR. The requested URL was not found on our server." I'm mentioning it in case this error message is somehow related to my inability to save my preferred list settings.

Hi Pete and Surge,

I've reported the change list settings not saving upon logout to me technical team and will reply back once we have an update.

Pete, regarding your 404 errors, clearing your browser's cache and cookies and then logging in and logging out to see if this stopped the 404 message?

Best,
Kurt

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Can't change default list view to compact for my lists..

Every day I edit and save the changes to my lists from IMDB default to compact and the next day it reverts back to IMDB default or detail.  This started happening about around Feb 20th around when the site was altered to eliminate the message boards.  Can someone please help?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled IMDB keeps changing order on my list.

I have a list of films that I've watched running for about 6 months and for about 5 of those months it was listed by release date (US) with no issues.
For some reason a few weeks ago it decided to randomly change the order to list order (ascending) without me doing anything. I've gone in and changed it by going edit list and changing it to by release date and saving changes, which it does but then next time I go on it it changes it back to by list order again and I've tried this multiple times over the last week and it still keeps changing itself back.

Really annoying. Help please IMDB.
The list is http://www.imdb.com/list/ls063690509/

I'm curious, too. I keep trying to save my lists in A-Z order rather than default. It works temporarily but won't stick after I log off and sign in the next day.

Same problem here.
I change the settings to how I like them, the dialog box says it's saved the settings. If I then view my other lists, everything is OK. If I then quit the browser & relaunch it, when I look at a list, it's reverted back to IMDb Default settings. So it doesn't look like the settings are being saved.
I'm using Safari on a Mac.

Is there a way to change and lock the settings for just one list? When I change one, it changes my four other lists too.
For example, I like my 'Seen' movies to be sorted by 'Date Added (recent first)', but not my 'Blu-ray' list. Is this possible?

Any chance in the near future?
Also, my 'Seen' movies are set to Date Added (recent first) but whenever I open it, the most recent movie added is at the bottom of the list and the oldest one added is first. I have to click 'Date' or the arrow for the list to be right.
