I am credited as "David Alexander Topf", but most people search for me as "David Topf". My page does not come up in those searches. I would understand if it was a common last name, but it should be obvious that anybody searching for David Topf is looking for David Alexander Topf. I was even credited as "David Topf" in my most recent film, but IMDB just put it into the David Alexander Topf page without doing an "also credited as" or anything.

I think it is to do with your name in the credits, if it was "David Topf" you may well be #1.

I would suggest adding the Nickname "David Topf" to your page. Any IMDb user can do it while logged in. Just hit the big Edit button at the bottom of the page, find Nickname in the huge list that comes up, and Add 1. Continue and follow the remaining steps.

If you are always going to be credited simply as "David Topf" from now on, the best option here is to change your name on IMDb. Please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/names-biographical-data/how-do-i-change-my-name/GRN6Q8GNK...
"We make an exception to the "most-often-credited-as" rule if we have reason to believe someone will be using a different name for all future credits -- for example, if they changed their name because of marriage or have registered a new professional name with the relevant guild. Such changes are made only for people with active careers. In the past, we required at least one onscreen credit with the new name; while that is still preferable, it is no longer a strict requirement."

I am curious about a similar issue.
am listed in credits as "David Alexander Topf"
but when you simply search for "David Topf" I'm nowhere to be found.
