When I registered I listed my name as, Oscar Martinez and when I validated my account it lists my name as my full email address. I already went to my account and clicked on change your personal details, however that did not fix the problem. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!

IMDb User Accounts do not use real names. They use User ID's. Like mine, for example, is bluesmanSF.  If you want to change your User ID as it'll appear if you post on message boards, etc., you change yours from the automated one that the site assigns based on your email address, by logging in, hovering at your name at the top right of the page, choosing "Site Settings," then clicking on Change your IMDb ID. Since it's a User ID, not a name, it's like email addresses in that it won't allow a space. Also, some characters will not work. If for some reason you actually want to reveal your real name and you can try Oscar_Martinez or OscarMartinez, if those are not chosen by other people already. ID's need to be unique so whatever you choose, it will not allow it if someone else has used it.

Thank you! That makes sense, but I need to add my name as a credited cast member. How can I do that?

Does IMDb already have a page in your name or is this a first time credited? Which page lists your work? There are at least a dozen Oscar Martinez and many more similar names.

Yes. It's possible in general if it qualifies...that's what IMDb is/does.

Any registered User Account, like the one you've just created (it needs to be verified, as in click the link in the email sent to you) can be used to submit data. I doesn't all come from production but mostly from site users who are Data Contributors, which you'll now become one of as you add your new work (so, welcome and congratulations).

So, you should familiarize yourself with the data contribution system.

I'd, so you can know what's going on with info added to the name page in your name, recommend perusing the data help area:

Adding Data to IMDb As to adding, specifically, a new page in your name that will display your credit, see:
How do I add myself/my credits to IMDb?

Next step after creating your account (then log in), look to see if you're already listed in the database. If not, check the name. If you're credited on screen as "Oscar Martinez," you'd look to see if the name is in use. IMDb keeps credits divided under specific names, by keeping names unique. So, if the most recently created Oscar Martinez is Oscar Martinez is shown as "Oscar Martinez (X)" as in this case, when you add your credit,  you'll add your name as credited in the on screen credits, as "Martinez, Oscar (XI)."

Do you know yet if they intend to show your credit in the on screen credits for the film?  It concerns me that production added all the cast/crew, then told you that you're on your own. If you're not going to credited on screen (which is primarily what IMDb documents), and you haven't had any credited work yet, you won't be eligible to list this "uncredited" role until the page in your name displays a "credited" entry.

See:  I appeared in a film but my name is not in the credits. Can I be added to IMDb?
 for eligibility for "uncredited" work.

So, it you are uncredited, for this one, but have any "credited" work, you should probably add the credited stuff first.

So, you'd go to the film's page, scroll down to, and click, the "edit page" button and proceed to add your information (as described on How do I add myself/my credits to IMDb?) .  In the case where a film has not been released yet, and production has added cast/crew, it might be difficult to get it accepted until it's been released and you can provide a screen capture of your name in the on screen credits. So, be aware that you might need that and get an image of your name in the credits as soon as you can. You can then add it here (upload into a post using the little camera icon) with the Submission ID Reference Number that is assigned when you submit the data, and staff can add the image to your submission so the page editors can verify and add your credit.

Hi Oscar,

Please note your IMDb User ID cannot contain any spaces. Does the ID you're attempting to use have spaces? If not, can you please provide the ID here for further assistance?

-Trevor
