My user profile page appears to be broken.

My IMDb user profile page appears to be messed up; I think it has been like this for a few weeks at least.

It looks like this:

There is no side-bar, no panel for message board posts, for user comments etc.

I am using Chrome Version 39.0.2171.95 m, however it has been pointed out to me by some other users that this is broken (thanks Dan and ACT_I) so it seems to be this way regardless of browser.

I still seem to be able to see other people's profiles without this fault (as you see below) so i guess the fault is not at the user end?

I told Bob about the problem a few days ago. I viewed Bob's profile page on three different computers (two running Windows 7, the other Windows XP), three different browsers (Internet Explorer, FireFox and Google Chrome), and with and without logging in. I've looked at more that ten other profile pages and none of them have this problem.

When I look at the page source, it looks like some of the information is available for display.

The page source ends abruptly at:
<div class="widgets">
<div class="widget article ratings">
    <div class="ratings image-list">
        <h2>Ratings</h2>
            <h4>Most Recently Rated</h4>
            <div class="title-list">
In contrast, other profile pages such as http://www.imdb.com/user/ur1000000/ have additional code afterward.

Thanks Dan,
I hope it can be fixed, although I think we all know what the cause of the problem is....

If you recall at last week IMDb Christmas Party, when you and blues suggested we play film charades in partners (and of course teamed up yourselves), well everyone was quick to grab their favorite person (or at least avoid the ones bad at the game).....which left myself and Need Ham awkwardly standing like Billy No-Mates and forced to team up.

We were doing alright for a while - admittedly helped by some easy titles pulled from the hat (Jaws, Fury etc) - but when I failed to guess "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain" then you could see Need Ham's frustration building.

Why he thought I would be able to get it from him continually pretending to walk up and down a slope, over and over again without changing it, I have no idea.

Anyway...it created tension between us during what should have been a fun game - and even though gromit's charade of Jodái-e Náder az Simin was worthy of the win - I could see Need Ham blamed me for losing...

The rest of the night I stayed by the Grappa table, drinking with ljdoncel, David and Luvs, but I could see Need Ham giving me the stink eye from across the room.

Hopefully some Christmas spirit will help him to get over this grudge and fix my profile page....but even if he does, I still say that he is a terrible charades player.

Wearing the lampshade on your head and starting a conga line with Karen probably didn't help your case.

Dan,
To be fair, you have to grab tightly onto the other person on a conga line....otherwise it is just people standing in a queue....and anyone accusing me of being "grabby" should talk to ol' Karen "Kneed-Hands" first....

Anyway, I think your authority to criticize me is kinda undermined by the fact that you use the line "hey baby, want to Get Satisfaction?" twice on every single female staffer (and once on Owen).....

I've found another user profile page
that has the same issue:

http://www.imdb.com/user/ur35753289/

(I am not associated with that user.)

That is the only other user profile page that I could find that appears to have the same problem as Bob's -- i.e., the page appears to be incomplete; some of the expected text and information is missing.

The page source code ends abruptly at the same point as in Bob's, at the unfinished Ratings section.  (Dan, thanks for noting the cutoff point in the page source code.)

Very possibly, there may be other such pages that I could not find.  I don't know if IMDb developers may be able to find every profile page that has the problem.

Hopefully, perhaps developers can find a way to fix the issue "globally" (at some key point in the system's page-rendering code) so that all such broken profile pages (including any that we can't individually find and examine) will be fixed.

Thanks for reporting this. I can't immediately see a cause for this, but it's definitely some sort of glitch and we're looking into this. Due to the holiday period, it may be a few days before we have an update; in the meantime, I would recommend not making changes to your profile page so our staff can see exactly what's going on and reproduce the issue.

Caught up with Need Ham at the IMDb New Year's Party (held at The Lamb out at Cadbury Heath, bit rough); after a bit of a chat and a hug we settled our differences - I apologized for maybe being a bit "friendly" with Karen, and he apologized for being a godawful charades player.

Probably a coincidence, but now my profile is all sorted out:

Lessons learnt and all that - I'll be on better behavior next time we're all together, which i guess will probably be the IMDb Purim celebration in March?

Bob,

That is a truly moo-ving story. I'm happy that you, Col and Karen have sorted things out and that your profile page works properly.

Happy New Years
