My submission to correct Harry S Truman's name was rejected because of the following. This correction has been rejected. You need to correct this correction before it will be accepted.
'Truman, Harry S' ends with an uppercase letter and is therefore invalid.

This is an incorrect rule....the S in Harry S Truman does not stand for anything except S and therefore should be allowed.

This is a know limitation of the IMDb system (and a source of never ending frustration for contributors) in that names can't end in a capital letter. Hopefully, an IMDb staff member will see this and make the correction for you.

Hi Ted -

Can you confirm the link to the IMDb name page you are trying to correct?

As Adrian mentioned above, there are limitations within our update form when correcting names, so a staff member will need to manually make the correction for you.

He is talking about the form president Harry S Truman.

Even though doing a quick google search makes me wonder if he has a point. Though, he is correct, in the fact that the S does not stand for anything, every representation I see online has the S followed by a period.

Adrian,

The following page at the Truman Presidential Library & Museum site deals directly with this question:

https://www.trumanlibrary.org/speriod.htm

Use the period after the S.

Hi Ted -

This is an interesting case, however, since Mr. Truman is most commonly referenced and cited with the period after the "S", we will need to retain the name listing on the site as: Harry S. Truman

I will note that the name variation of "Harry S Truman" is listed on his page as an Alternate Name.
