Name change in quotes

In Friends 1971, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067118/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4 the editors have just changed Anicee Alvina's character from Michelle La Tour (incorrect spelling) to Michelle Latour.  But in all the quotes, despite the fact that I mentioned in my explanation of the change that all the quotes with the wrong spelling would need to be changed too, all the quotes still remain Michelle La Tour.  Must I do it and if so how?  In Edit for the quote page I see not way to modify the name, if I am suppose to do it.  Do I just have to wait a bit longer for the staff to do it since it is a recent submission.  I thought that when the staff changed the credit page name, that it is linked to the quotes and the change would be automatic. Help is appreciated.

You probably have to do it manually, although I would wait a week just to be sure. There is a reason not to do it automatically; sometimes the person voices/plays a character that is not listed in the credits, and therefore will have a character name on the quote that is not the same as the one on the filmography.

The correction is easy to do, once the Character Name has percolated through to all sections - particularly the Update Database.

Select to correct each of the quotes that she is part of.
at the top of each quote, where it shows the character/actor name, select the corrected combination from the drop-down menu.
Add an explanation e.g. Correcting to match changed character name

It is simplest to add the explanation to one item, then copy and paste to the others.

How long does it take for the name change I made in credits to "Percolate" down to the Update Database?...The corrected name is in the credits but when I go into edit mode in Quotes, the only choice for Michelle Latour is Michelle La Tour... Do I have to wait 14 full days? or is something wrong?

I believe it takes forever in this case.  Oddly enough I ran into this very problem on the weekend. I believe that once there is an actor/name combination created in this section, the system will not show the new combination from the filmography in the list until it has been created for a quote.

What you need to do is select Other from the list, then click Check these updates
On the refreshed screen, select the actress from the list in the Name:  box
The Character box will autofill with the character name from the credit.

Once you enter the explanation, you can submit the update.

David, I selected Other from the list and searched all over the place to click Check these updates, but it was no where to be found...where is it?  Instead I filled in the Character field following Other and Name and typed Michelle Latour. (Michelle Latour has been corrected by the editors and overwrites the wrong spelling in Credits, but when I refresh I get Michelle Latour(-) and a rejection: Choose from the cast list for the quote you are going to make.  There is only Michelle La Tour there.
Interestingly, If I click Anicee Alvina or was it Michelle Latour in the credits, I am moved to a page where it says at the top in bold Michelle La Tour and below, Alternate name Michelle Latour http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0119460/?ref_=tt_cl_t2  There is another problem post by me about this whole problem which I added this morning in Customer Community.  Very complicated.  They replaced Michelle Latour in credits instead of Michelle La Tour, but in the above link, Michelle Latour is only an alternate name.

There is a Continue or Check these updates or Recheck these updates button at the bottom of each update page, below the forms. It used to always be just Continue, but IMDb changed this a while ago. Sometimes the Continue button is shown a second time instead of changing to the Check these updates button.

I complained at the time of the modification that the change made it more difficult to give advice and suggested a Check and continue button if the Continue was felt to be insufficient, with the usual success of such suggestions.

As to the AKA on the character page, there is an option to choose which name is to be listed as the primary one. Apparently somebody has done this as the page now is headed with Michelle Latour.

Yes, I changed all the quotes and gave an explanation.  They will show the changes when they post them.  The problem with switch of Michelle La Tour to alternate name is that no such alternate even exists!  Somebody didn't know French or they got the name from Wikipedia where it is spelled wrong too.  Don't know how to delete the alternate name though.

David,
Apparently, I had to authenticate my account to change the character name on the character page.  Perhaps in 6 hours when they send me an email, things will have percolated through the update data base and "check these updates" will be there when I follow your directions above.
