This is going to be vague but any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to remember what movie this certain scene belongs to that's set in the WW2 timeframe. I believe the war is finally over. A certain character finds a German officer living alone in a house out in the middle of no where. The officer may have been outside chopping wood or doing something similar. The character hurts or kills the officer because he had committed war crimes during the war but was never prosecuted for these crimes. And...that's all I've got. Thanks in advance for any help!

There was a similar scene in the mini-series, "Band of Brothers."  Two ally soldiers go looking for and find a German in a house out in a remote, scenic area.  The German is believed to be an ex-German officer who committed crimes during WWII, which is just ending in Europe.  The German runs out of his house and one of the ally soldiers shoots him as he is running away.
