Need to contact IMDB by phone

Does anyone have a phone number for IMDB? I signed up for a free 30 day trial and have been writing for MONTHS that I don't want this subscription. They keep charging me and ignoring my letters. 

Unless someone has a phone number, I guess my next step is the Better Business Bureau, but they can take a while and IMDB has already taken a fortune from me.

Have you taken the steps outlined here: http://www.imdb.com/bill ? If so, when you say you've written to them do you mean via the Help Desk?

Yes, I have done those steps multiple times and written through the Help Desk. I'm getting no where.

If you're talking about canceling the 14 day trial offered for IMDb Pro, just cancel. You don't have to "write" or call anyone (and IMDb does not offer phone support). Log in to Pro, activate the drop down menu next to your name, choose "billing," enter your password, and chose "cancel." If you're having some problem processing, contact staff directly. They won't help with passwords, account info, credit card payments, etc., here in public...they only do that in the more secure private messages.

Are you completely certain you never created more than one account?  It sounds odd, but is a common problem.  People run into problems adding an account and start over.  If you created two and keep trying to stop payments by canceling with one, while the other is still active it would have the same result...continuing charges. You'd have been able to use the same credit card for multiple accounts and it wouldn't be questioned as many people maintain multiple Pro accounts because they represent and maintain pages for more that one person.

No, just one account. I guess I'll have to go through the credit card company and the better business bureau.

As the saying goes... Beware of free trials that ask for credit cards!

Okay...it was just a shot in the dark.  Yeah, you might want to get on the credit card company quickly so it can be stopped from rolling over again.  I still think staff will get it straightened out though regarding any unauthorized charges.

Yeah, they pretty much all seem to do that...make you give the credit card number and choose any charge options ahead of time and then rely upon canceling going smoothly (though, as we all know, they don't always go that way!)

Best of luck.  I am sure it'll all get figured out eventually! Sorry it hasn't gone well.  I am sure the majority of cases it all works well...but that's of little consolation to you when you look at your bank statement, I'm sure!

I guess someone saw this because I just got a letter saying they are canceling my subscription. Wish I had posted here months ago, but at least it's done.
