Netflix picked up IMDB metadata for my film's release and now the film is in trouble: My film 'Placebo' which had it's first festival screening in 2014 got picked up by netflix for a worldwide exclusive  release. in September 2016. However, IMDB will not let me update the year next to the project so my film automatically goes with old releases on 2014 and will not show up on the Netflix recently added titles. The film did not receive a theatrical and the netflix release was the biggest platform for this mall film. I think imdb needs to take into account these new ways films are going out. could you please help me with changing the year next to the title so the film can be seen and not dumped into old 2014 releases

Hi Abhay Kumar,

I'm a long time user of IMDb and not a staff member. IMDb's official policy may differ from what I write  below.

This appears to be your film:
Placebo (I) (2014)

According to Placebo (I) (2014) Release Info, your film was first shown in the Netherlands
22 November 2014 at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival.

IMDb's current policy is that the year for a film is the first public showing for the film. In your case, that would be 2014. Until IMDb updates that policy, there is currently no way for you to change the date of your film.

At least IMDb lists this as the theatrical release date:
1 September 2016 (India)

For those with Netflix account who are interested, this is the link to your film on Netflix:
