Badges: Additional ideas

The current badges you get for watching certain movies (Oscar winners, Top 250) have made me watch movies I usually wouldn't have watched. And for this reason I wanted to offer some ideas for new badges:
- Watch x movies from a certain genre (Watch 25 Comedies)
Could level up for every x amount (10 Horror movies for level 1, 20 for level 2, etc.)
- Watch every movie or x amount of movies directed by a certain director (Watch 10 movies directed by Alfred Hitchcock or Watch every movie directed by Stanley Kubrick)
- Watch x movies from a certain decade (Watch 25 movies from the 1970s)
Same level mechanic possible as with genres
- Watch x movies from a certain country (Watch 25 movies made in Sweden)
Same level mechanic possible
- Watch every Best Picture winner
Some of these ideas are things I've seen on this forum, other ideas were inspired by the website/app Untappd, which is also a database/social network, but for beers instead of movies. If any staff may come across this post and like the ideas, I recommend to check out Untappd, for more ideas, and to see how the leveling mechanic works there and how they show your badges on your profile.

Just some ideas, feedback/more ideas welcome!

IMDb should tap movie vendors, etc & give prizes for badges IE
cash, DVD player, Streaming service kit, Tesla Model 3,S,X, Other car/s, Trips IE Las Vegas, etc
& tap Hollywood elite  to donate any "excess" to IMDb for prizes IE sample estate for a pvt party?
More can be done & make site grow.
Can involve: theatre chains, production firms, studioes, ComicCon,celebs, events IE Grammys, nationwide for prizes, sweepstakes with badges.

I'm not sure that would work. People would just rate the movies without actually watching them.
The motivation for getting a badge shouldn't be extrinsically. The badge is just a way to make people watch movies they wouldn't normally watch. To get them out of their comfort zone.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Badges: Add more badges.

The 2012 and 2013 Oscar Highlights Badges are great ideas. But I think IMDb should make more and more of these badges including not only 6 movies, but 20 or 25. E.g.: War movies, silent movies and based on the badges you earn, you could get higher and higher on the ladder. I also think this should not be a contest, it should be private.Personally I love these challenges, I would go for the badges :)
