Original release date

Is there a setting somewhere to display the main, visible release dates as the original release date and not whatever date the episode/movie happened to come out in the country I happen to live. I couldn't care less when something came out where I live I want to know when it actually first aired. I know I am able to look up the correct date by going onto the release dates page, and that is a mild nuisance to have to do when it comes to movies, but it is positively idiotic when you are looking down a list of episodes.

In addition to the article in case you miss it.  In Site preferences, if I'm not mistaken, you would select reference view. If I'm wrong would someone correct my invalid assumption.

I don't think title display preferences affect the display of release dates, and neither does reference view.

Edit: Sorry, the title display country preference does affect dates, but the 'Original' setting doesn't help show original dates, in my experience.
