You can do a Facebook like and connect with and share to Twitter and FB, so why not add in other social media sites?

Google+?
Reddit?

Tumblr?

These days you don't even need to handle this yourself as there are services that'll do it for you:

Ditto that. Pinterest is a hot one now too. It seems to get 'shared' a lot on Facebook. And it seems to be cool stuff when I see it shared. It'd be nice to hit something like that while it's on the upswing, not the "jumped the shark" dive. (or maybe I am so uncool I missed when it "jumped"...dunno.

And the thing is, if it has jumped the shark you can always shuffle in the next big thing - while everything else comes and goes, IMDB is always there ;)

Are you truly that clueless? Do you know what goes on in those oh so helpful link everything to everything features? It's nothing but a disguised SPY on your entire life. For the purposes of marketing and selling to you I might add. Every time you perpetuate that as a GOOD idea? You're just helping them line their pockets. Your other answers here seem enlightened, informed, and insightful. Therefor? It puzzles me why you accept constant shadowing as acceptable practice. If you're not part of the solution? You're part of the problem. Or gainfully employed to perpetuate the silent stalking tha IS the CONVENIENT non invasive way to live a life. I personally don't care WHERE you are in foursquare, don't find pictures of what you ate for lunch particularly illuminating on Instagram, nor have any desire to know that the lovely picture you took of that burrito? Was the burrito in question that gave you such bad gas. No, I don't want to send you a calf on Farmville. Why yes! I do think this is a bad idea you've suggested. Does it show?

Like if, say, MightyEmplafy.com ever comes to fruition...

"Always there" sounds nice to a website..."Bluesman is always there" means he's old??? Not fair!

One thing that occurs to me is that film-makers might appreciate this kind of thing, IMDB is already a one-stop shop for films and adding more social media buttons would help them with their promotion efforts - people could, for example, express their interest in seeing a film by posting it up on Pinterest. So it isn't just a question of it being good for IMDB. It might encourage people to add more variations of their posters too.

Like if, say, MightyEmplafy.com ever comes to fruition...

Yeah I'm just waiting for the final batch of wiring to get installed in my headbox and we should be able to roll it out.

It is a bit odd isn't it? I assume adding the Google login is part of their expanding this front, although there has been no sign of progress recently, so I thought it worth the suggestion. I can't think I'd make much use of it myself (once I get back on Google+) but I know some people will.
