Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/QweiHZXe138/
Operation Pied Piper was the code name of the program the British did in World War 2 to get the children out of London and coastal areas and move them into the country during the Battle Of Britain and the Blitzkrieg. Some children had stayed in London. Some operations like this were done in Europe by private individuals to get Jewish refugees out of Axis occupied Europe and Asia. Some children were caught and sent to prison or concentration camps.
These are films ranging from animated musicals, to fantasy, to comedy, to gritty war dramas that deal with this part of WW2: how children lived through that war. I will include both sides of that war. Which one is your favorite? (I will start with the fantasy films showing part of Operation Pied Piper and then move to the more realistic and grittier war dramas.)

dgranger,
This is an interesting concept for a poll. Although I was aware of Operation: Pied Piper, I did not know it's operational name until now. I also would not have made the thematic connection among the films in your poll until you pointed it out.
I have three favorites in your list:
Comic:
Father Goose (1964)
Dramatic:
1st: Schindler's List (1993)
2nd: Empire of the Sun (1987)

NarnaIsAwesome, I know you are just dying to say “The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe”. So just say it and get it over with.

Both were gladly added. I was hoping for more entries from around the world and not just entries of British or Hollywood made films. The war happened around the world. So should the entries.

Of course it is on. Thank you for reminding me of the film. Yes, I have seen it. A very good choice.

Wow, I really like this one. What a creative idea. And poignant, too.
'So glad to see 'Sophie's Choice' on the list; I could vote for that one or 'Empire of the Sun' or 'Schindler's.'
May I suggest two small edits?
These are films ranging from animated musicals, to fantasy, to comedy, to gritty war dramas that deal with this part of WW2: how children lived through that war.
(Suggested edit 1: replace comma after "WW2" with colon)
(Suggested edit 2: I'd put the section that starts with the above sentence in a separate paragraph. People tend to read more when blocks of texts are broken up a bit and I think as many people as possible should read what you wrote: it's powerful.)

Oh man! I wish that I had seen Karloffs’s poll “Children In War Themed Movies” https://www.imdb.com/poll/wuQrCBHk2TA... before this one went live. It had several great ones that I had missed! I strongly encourage people to go to his poll and vote too! I just did for “The Pied Piper” again. (What can I say. It is my go to film on the subject.) here is that address again : https://www.imdb.com/poll/wuQrCBHk2TA...
Karloff, if you are reading this, please update your poll with a link to a get satisfaction page. A great and classic poll.

Thank you. Did you vote on Karoff’s poll? I hope you had. It is a good one.

To tell you the truth. I too had just recently learned the name of the operation. When I had heard it, I did think of Narnia. But more importantly The Pied Piper” because it is the first film that comes to me when I think of children in a war. Besides being a terribly dated film, it was a smart film in the point that as the man goes through Europe picking up children, the film knows that those children will speak different languages. French, German, Hebrew and English are heard in the film. And Peter will love this part, there is a very powerful scene in the movie that even Spielberg couldn’t match. It is when a boy and a girl look at the body of the nun that was accompanying them was not moving. The girl is wondering why. The boy says in French, and in matter of fact voice, three simple words, “Elle est morte” - “She is dead.”
