I need help shortening this title.
The list page: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls093310044/
A lot of times a Comedian or Comedic Actor will take a dramatic role in a serious drama and usually turn in a fine performance. Already, this year is no exception. (Can’t name the film here but it is on the list.) Which is the best film featuring Comedian or Comedic Actor in a dramatic role. (Please use your opinion on how well the person performed in his dramatic role as your guide.)
No joke, you can get serious about the subject here.
The sad part here is that many listed here are listed as comedies. But as you watch them, you quickly realize they are not comedies but ether as romances, or light comedy / drama mixes.

From the list, I'd choose Being There. I'd also recommend another Peter Sellers movie where he had a dramatic role (although his role was smaller this time, the late Jeremy Kemp had a meatier and better role). Being There is ultimately a better film, but you may also check out The Blockhouse.

My personal choice would be Jack Lemmon in Glengarry Glen Ross. At almost 70 years of age at the time, nearing the end of a prestigious career with two Oscars and a perfect movie persona / image, he did what few people in his position would do: he chose a role ridden with f-bombs every two seconds, playing a sad, desperate character. (His performance in Missing was also better than some of the names on your list, in my opinion.)

Your title seems fine to me, perhaps you could say dramatic role instead of serious role.

All added.
I would have opted for “The Days of Wine and Roses” and “The China Syndrome”. But I have poor judgement. That is why I rely on people making suggestions.

He is super talented, although I couldn't help not taking him seriously, lol.
He is also a great singer; I believe he did the National Anthem at the Superbowl once.

I need help shortening this title.
Most of my poll ideas DON'T have the poll question in the title itself. I find it too long and unappealing.
Maybe shortening it to ''Comedians in Serious Roles'' will do the trick? It's short and up to the point.

Yes, but I have to keep “Comedic Actors” in it to because there is a difference between the two. A comedian, at some point in his career, to make a living, goes up on stage to deliver monologues of jokes that he usually writes himself. A comedic actor or comic usually takes some else’s material, in a story or play form, and with someone else on stage, delivers it in a funny way. And also, you have comedy teams that blurred the distinction between the two.

Whatever you do, keep the late Robin Williams - even when he was funny his vulnerability shone through.

Corrected. Thanks for pointing that out. I was side- tracked by what was going on in Washington with the impeachment attempt. I’m interested in politics.

Once again, you came up with such a great bon mot for the link back to this thread; No joke, you can get serious about the subject here. That's so good.

I noticed one typo below (ether instead of either) and suggest three other small edits: (in bold)
