Hello all,
I'm starting this as a question but maybe it's a problem that needs fixing.
I just started to rewatch Penny Dreadful (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2628232/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1). This series official ended in 2016 and I'm positive the end date used to reflect that. Upon rewatching the series I went back to this page to refresh myself with the actors, etc. which is when I noticed it now says 2019. I thought maybe this was because it was picked up again for more seasons however when I went to view the episodes it still shows just the three seasons.
In researching this I discovered it has been picked up again but as Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10361016/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_4). John Logan is steering the helm of this production as well.
It was unclear as to whether they are considering this a new production (hence a separate show/IMDB entry) or a Season 4 of the original (similar to how Will & Grace ended then was picked up again and the seasons were added to the original IMDB entry as if the show had never ended).
I at first thought the change in the end date to 2019 on the original meant it was being rolled in as a Season 4 but there is no sign of this on the IMDB entry but there is of course the separate entry for City of Angels as shown above.
Maybe someone with more knowledge in how this is being rolled out can way in. If this is a separate production then the original should go back to showing 2014-2016. If the new one is being considered as a Season 4 then shouldn't it be added to the original entry and the extra entry removed?
Thanks!
