I have submitted poster corrections over 2 years ago and they were ignored and given message

Photo/poster corrections are awaiting migration to a new system and are not currently being processed. Submissions are on hold.

I have tried to resubmit and am STILL given the same message.

OVER 2 YEARS and NOTHING has been done.

Example

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0503729/

clearly has WRONG poster and should be corrected.

Today, I tried to submit a request to assign the correct existing images as primary "posters" for episodes of a TV show. My submission was rejected with the same message as you described.

My attempted submission was just a "fan" request. I'm not an "authorized representative" of the show. I assume that the show's "authorized representatives" can request such corrections through the paid IMDb Poster Services.

So, my only recourse may be to try to contact the show's "authorized representatives", to (1) inform them that I see a problem with some of their show's episode poster images on IMDb, and (2) ask them to consider submitting the necessary poster-assignment corrections through IMDb Poster Services.

Let me know how you get on. On a slightly related topic I once tried to submit a photo, as a fan, of a dead actor. I was told that only the authorized representative of the actor could do that. Quite likely the actor in question has some surviving relatives but an authorized representative, agent, publicist for a dead actor....never.

Plenty of photos of the dead actor exist on the Internet but IMDB wouldn't let me use one. Possibly copyright issues but that is NOT what they said.

best wishes

(In my case, I was not trying to submit any new images. My rejected request involved only some existing episode-related images that a TV show's authorized reps have already uploaded to IMDb. Conditional on approval by such authorized reps, such images evidently need to be assigned as the primary "posters" for certain TV episodes. That was the only issue that I was trying to report, but my submission was rejected.)

But you got the same 2 year old message that now according to Michelle is wrong. We need to submit here and ignore that message.

New images, existing images, deceased actors images, all seem a total mess. Its a wonder that any images get assigned at all.

Hi Lucus and Keester -

Just to clarify, if there are photo corrections that need to be made on the site (ie. a photo is linked incorrectly, or a missing name needs to be linked), we cannot accept these requests through our online form, instead you will need to report those corrections here (within the Get Satisfaction community).

However, if you are trying to add Photo URLs for an individual on IMDb, you can still submit these URLs through our online form.  The only other way to add photos to IMDb for a person, is if you are a valid representative of that person and if you have an IMDbPro Subscription which is required to upload photos on the site for an individual.

I hope this helps clarify, let me know if you have additional questions.

Photo/Poster corrections: Your online form still returns the following when used for Miscellaneous Corrections Poster Problems and probably other places as well

This correction has been rejected. You need to correct this correction before it will be accepted. Photo/poster corrections are currently closed

Photo/poster corrections are awaiting migration to a new system and are not currently being processed. Submissions are on hold.
This should be amended in accordance your advice above.

I'm going to guess you mean Problem section of here (Get Satisfaction community) is the place to report Poster Problems but what format or info do you need?

How is anybody supposed to know what to do if you don't tell them properly!

I'll get back separately on individual photo URLs though I hope I don't end up with the same stupidity as previously encountered on a deceased actor.

Trying to help you fill in the gaps to make your site better.

Individuals.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0858833/

Frankie Thomas (I) (1921–2006)

Mouse Over empty image placeholder No photo available. Represent Frankie Thomas? Add or change photos at IMDbPro.com

Waste of time who will represent a deceased actor?

And I'm not going to pay for IMDbPro. Your already getting hours of my time per day for FREE in editing why should I pay for updating YOUR website.

Different if I was an agent of a living working actor of course but I'm not.

You lose...You end up with an empty placeholder for the deceased actor instead of a valid picture which would improve website.

Photo URLs. By that I'm assuming you mean

Links to Other Sites: Image / Photos

Use of proper terminology would be appreciated and make it easier for outsiders to edit your website

Have submitted under Update history reference 140925-004849-050000 but I'm not confident as I couldn't find a gallery and you seem to want one.

If it does get accepted where does it go anyway?
