For years my photos have always appeared along with my credits on my IMDB actors page. I upgraded to IMDB PRO for a couple of months and then cancelled because of non-use. Upon cancellation, my photos were taken down. Is it new policy that you need to be a PRO subscriber in order for your photos to appear along with your credits on the free version of IMDB? Please advise. Thank you. Ray Laska

Usually what happens is that photos uploaded through IMDB Pro are removed when the subscription ends, but I haven't heard of existing photographs being removed too. It might be a feature I've not heard of, but it could also be a bug - staff will need to look into it.

Emperor is correct, you must maintain an active IMDbPro Subscription in order to keep your Resume photos displayed on the site; once that IMDbPro Subscription is canceled and expires, all your Resume data and Resume photos will be removed from the site.

I had the same issue and I just reinstated my IMDB pro account. My pictures and resume are still under my profile, however they are not active on my imdb page. Will I have to delete my photos and re-upload them, or will they eventually show up?

It can take a while (I believe up to 48 hours) for everything to be displayed after a reactivation. However, it seems your pictures are now back.

Really stupid IMDB. You should not charge for uploaded photos.

I, too, think it is absurd that you took my photos down once I canceled my Pro account. I already paid for the service, for a year, therefor taking them down just seems shady. I invested in the service for a year, and it didn't prove necessary or helpful at this time. You are basically taking back a product I payed for.

Hi Jennifer,

Our records indicate your subscription to IMDbPro was monthly and was canceled on July 14, 2016. Your photos and detailed resume information stayed live on the site through your paid-through date of August 11, 2016. It is our policy to keep all photos and detailed information live until the subscription is ended completely, which is denoted by your paid-through date.

Thanks,

Trevor

Hi Michelle,
I had photos on my actor page for many years before my IMDBPro subscription. During the couple of months of active Pro subscription I neither added nor edited my photos. All I want to do is have my page look like it did before my Pro subscription which included the photos that were uploaded to the free IMDB page three or four years ago.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi Ray -

I was able to locate one previous Publicity photo that was once displayed on your page, I have unsuppressed this image so that it will now display on your page again.

I did not locate any other photos that were uploaded prior to your IMDbPro registration. If you have additional photos you want displayed on your page, you will need to renew your IMDbPro Subscription and upload them there.

Thanks, again, Michelle. The photo you put up is a head shot from 8 years ago.
I'm still not clear on why I could have four photos before IMDbPro and none after.
When I initially subscribed to IMDbPro I did not upload any photos. The photos that were on the free site page automatically came up on the Pro site's page. When I cancelled, they all came off. '
If I'm unable to get the four photos back to the free site, can I substitute the old head shot you unsuppressed with my current head shot?
Thanks.

Michelle: a quick look at the Wayback Machine indicates that Ray had 5 photos on his page on 7 Feb 2008 I don't know if this was before or after he started Pro -- but as he stated it was only for a few months, i would assume before, unless someone else had set up a Resume subscription earlier. (The pictures themselves are not archived because of robot restrictions.)

Hi Ray -

Unfortunately, we no longer offer the publicity photo service, and cannot allow a substitute of a new photo to replace the older headshot, currently, the only way to upload new photos is through an active IMDbPro Subscription

I didn't locate any other publicity photos aside from the one image that was unsuppressed, and it is possible that there was a previous Resume Account used to upload the other photos that had since expired.

If you would like our helpDesk staff to review further, please send them a message through the form here: http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/contact_... and include the publicity photo purchase/confirmation number and they can help further.

I've been trying to change the main photo on my page, the past 2 weeks. The main photo is 3 years old and is a HORRIBLE representation of myself. I have recent head shots in the gallery, but I can't simply replace the main photo. Can you "suppress" my main photo? The page name is "Christian Lawrence Wade" I do not look like the main photo on my page, as I've lost weight and it's 3-4 years old. Please, tell me how I can trade it with a picture from my gallery? It's hurting my image, as people click on my page and get confused, as the picture doesn't even look like me, anymore. Please help.

How long does it take for Image/photos to appear on an actor's photo gallery?
For Example Charlie Sheen's photo gallery:
 http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000221/mediaindex?ref_=nm_phs_md_sm

I have submitted photos from getty images (they where correct and ready to be processed)
I submitted the photos only 2 days ago, but I just want to know how long it actually takes before they get uploaded.

IMDB also allows, cast and crew photographs to be uploaded through the poster service and these can be included in an actor's entry - if they meet the criteria staff can selected them as a thumbnail. Also IMDB draw on agency photographs of awards events and the like (although I don't know what the relationship is there) which will also appear in relevant entries.

Basically, when an actor reaches a certainly level there are a lot of pictures of them sloshing around the site, one of which can be selected by staff to use as the main headshot. So they don't necessarily need an IMDBPro to be sure they have a selection of photographs (although you will sometimes find that people's agents or representatives have an IMDB Pro page to be able to finetune things like the picture selection, as this can go wrong sometimes), but I'm afraid that for actors who are still coming up, being able to add your own photographs and a resume can, is pretty important

I think it's a complete rip-off that we have to pay monthly to keep our photos up.

well only you'd know what's "worth it" to you. But, if you only get one job because of it, does that change the "value" of the service?

Paid staff has to process that stuff, thus the fee for their service.

That you're listed on IMDb at all is a pretty big free service, I'd say...

To use, "the ONLY feature I use" as an argument for requesting free services is like buying a car and saying you want to only pay 1/7th the purchase price because you are only going to use it to drive to church on Sundays.

In actuality once the photos are up a staff member has to take them back down if you stop paying I think IMBd in general would be better for everyone if the photos stayed up. Or at least one stayed up! It doesn't cost the company anything to leave them "unsuppressed" Just sayin!

I think they are automatically suppressed when no account is linked.  But I am not sure.

I don't think there are two many users who would argue with you, but the site might have to protect the very few revenue streams they have going for them...but we can always keep hoping...

To staff...can you merge this and the other reply here in this thread to https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/one_free_photo_please

comment was triple posted...for some odd reason.

IMDB is owned by Amazon.com and makes TONS of money of advertising all the movies and tv shows and has direct links to pay amazon to watch movies and tv shows. This site is one giant paid advertising ad! they don't need to be charging people monthly just to have a photo up!!!

Michelle,

I have a similar question and really need help. I am an appearance Agent, ( Gossard, Emmi ) my company (Onyx Moon Agency [us] ) one of my Clients main photo was not put there by him.

A women (a prior publicist) had added a rediculous photo of him, intentionally , seems she took over the acct and he cannot get control back . And between myself and his management (and others) we've tried to attempt "deleting/changing" this main photo.

Do I need to get proof of some sort to IMDb that this account was compromised and should be given back to my Client , so I can get this photo down and a Regular headshot added ?

I must add, I prefer not to say his name, he is well known . But his "Resume" is so large, it goes back to the 60's, we cannot remake an entire new page. Any help/suggestions would be helpful.

I have a "Pro Acct", is there a way from my end (that Im just not doing correctly) to "Add/change" his main photo?

(I can email his name to you to see his IMDb, but I prefer not adding it here)

Yes. IMDbPro is how you list up to 100 photos, a resume page, contact information, Pre-production info for titles, and obtain access to business related information and message boards.

All this information is in the public domain.  We should just make a new ImDb one that does allow for at least one public photo on the site always.

I don't think they need a whole new sight. Just allow one photo to go up for free on each page. It would not be hard! And then make it so you still need a pro account for the other perks
