For IMDb staff only! Kathe Green sang all the songs for the lead role in Oliver! (1968). I just submitted her name for the cast list for the THIRD time (141231-150024-648000). You ignored my first (141203-154012-185000) and second (141217-113700-384000) submissions! Why?

I formatted it correctly. I named the role (Oliver) &, in the attribute field, said (singing voice) (uncredited). That's how IMDb gave cast credit for the singers who sang the songs for the two lead roles in West Side Story (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055614/fullcredits, see Jimmy Bryant & Marni Nixon, alphabetically). It's also how IMDb credited the singer who sang the song for the supporting character Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058385/fullcredits, see Bill Shirley, alphabetically). Why have you denied cast credit to Kathe Green for singing the lead role's songs in Oliver?

On Kathe Green's name page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0338042/), she got soundtrack credit for singing all Oliver's songs. This is confirmed on Oliver's trivia page (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063385/trivia) and in the trivia on her father's name page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0338004/bio?ref_=nm_dyk_trv_sm#trivia).

On Oliver's "other crew" list (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063385/fullcredits), Kathe Green is credited as actor Mark Lester's singing double. That's NOT where her credit belongs! Singing a lead actor's songs is half that actor's performance. It should be in the CAST LIST, not in the "other crew" list!

Please give Kathe Green cast credit for singing the lead role's songs in Oliver!

IMDb has no policy re: singers singing lead roles in major feature films! That's why I submitted the request!

If you'll read my original post, singers on IMDb pages for both West Side Story and My Fair Lady got CAST credit for singing lead roles. NOT "other crew" credits!

That's my point -- What difference does IMDb make between West Side Story, My Fair Lady and Oliver? All 3 are big budget, major studio musical features. If Jimmy Bryant & Marni Nixon get IMDb cast credit for singing lead role songs in West Side Story and  Bill Shirley gets IMDb cast credit for singing a supporting role's songs in My Fair Lady, why should Kathe Green get an "other crew" credit for singing the lead role's songs in Oliver?

Kathe Green did exactly the same thing as the 3 other singers. Why is IMDb treating her credit differently?

Hi rking333,

Thanks very much for pointing these examples out. I've moved all of the singing voice credits on West Side Story and My Fair Lady to the Other crew department using the following format (singing voice: character name) (uncredited) to reflect our policy.

If you notice any more examples then please submit a correction and we can amend the data.

That's NOT what I asked for! I DIDN'T ask to downgrade Marni Nixon's, Jimmy Bryant's & Bill Shirley's credits from Cast to Other Crew!

Singing major role songs is ONSCREEN talent. It's PERFORMANCE!! It's what SELLS RECORDS and repeat admission tickets!

It's an INSULT to performers to credit lead-role singers along with "Other Crew" tech people! Tech people are NOT onscreen. Singer voices ARE!

IMDb used to appreciate the people who make movies. YOU SPIT IN OUR FACES NOW!!
