Hey all, I found two keywords that need merging.

"Christian Movie"
https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=christian-movie&ref_=fn_al_kw_1
needs to be merged into:
"Christian Film"
https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=christian-film&ref_=fn_al_kw_1

And maybe someone can fix a re-route for the first keyword too? :)
Cheers.

Should either of these be keywords at all? This sounds like they should be a genre instead of a keyword.

Many genres or subgenres are covered by keywords. When new genres have been created it has been on the basis of existing keyword listings.

Adrian: The problem is that it's fairly easy to add keywords to the database, but adding genres is extremely difficult. We're still waiting on the five genres that were approved in 2010 to be implemented. (See https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/implementation_of_new_genres.)

While I understand it is difficult, the question needs to be asked with the followup question as to why it takes so long to get a genre added.

If Awards Show is going to be implemented, why not Stand-up Show as well?

Thanks Michelle! Can you also fix a re-route to the first words to avoid future mistakes?
Cheers!

Hi M J -

Concerning "Christian Film" and "Christian Movie", technically, this doesn't align with our Keyword guidelines, as they are meant to describe any notable object, concept, style or action that takes place during a title.  It would be more in-line with our policy to replace those keywords with "Christianity", which I am happy to make the change.

Regarding the issue surrounding adding new Genres, I agree that this is a pain-point that needs to be addressed, unfortunately, as discussed in previous threads there are technical limitations that prevent us from easily adding new genres.  I will reach out to the applicable team to re-evaluate the status and push for a more concrete timeline as to when work will be done on Genres. Once I have an update I will post the details here.

Thanks a bunch Michelle! This has indeed been a problem for (way too many) years.
