Please, make lists sortable by year! (not US release year)

Lists are sortable by US release year but this can cause a 1929 movie to sort among movies from the 1990s or 2000s if the move was released in the US at that time. I simply want to sort the lists by actual year. This was a feature of the old IMDb!

Yes this can throw up some odd results and is a little mysterious - I suspect they implemented it to fix some kind of problem and have never switched it back. After all, there should be no reason for it as sorting by release year should be at least as easy as sorting by the US release year.

It might be worth reposting this as a suggestion, although I'll +1 this.

Hi, this is still an important issue that has not been solved. I would like to be able to sort my list by clicking on the "year" column in compact view. This shouldn't be too hard!
Sorting by "US release year," there are movies from the 1920s that appear stuck in among movies from the 2000s.

It is possible to sort year by advanced search, but still it should be possible to sort lists by year, done the same way of sorting lists that can be done by ratings and such.
I have over years rated all the 6000 movies IO've seen, and sometime I would search by year. Then I have to seach the whole database, and not only the films I'v eseen or listed.
