Examples:

Movie Polls
TV Polls
Idea Polls
Funny Polls
Silent Era Polls
Genre Polls
Or any other Categories left out.

Polls are statistics. Dan's lists include links to the polls so you can find polls to vote in.
The casual user on IMdb. Would they know where to find Dan's Stats Page?

If I understand you correctly, that concept would run into problems because many polls fit different categories.
For example,
Meg - Busters - fits your categories: movies, funny, idea?, genre?. Possible other categories: titles.
For example,

I would say it is a fun poll.

Also you could change
The "Poll Suggestion" to the categories if they were to exist and add that category during the beginning process.
Example
People Poll Suggestion PPS for short
TV Poll Suggestion TVPS
Funny Poll Suggestion FPS
Silent Era Poll Suggestion SEPS
Etc
Etc
Like your Current 2 Polls
would be in TVPS

Poll suggestions are limitless. You dream it up. You make it and post it here. It may be selected and made into a poll.
