Gotta check McQ out and see if that qualifies. If he was 50. I think he was.
I don't have him in yet.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is 72 years old. He was just randomly kicked in the back in South Africa and just shrugged it off like it never happened. Same kick would have put some people in bed for days, I imagine. The very definition of "still going strong".

Amount of stunts both Ian McDiarmid and Christopher Lee displayed in prequel trilogy is jaw-dropping for their respective ages at the time!

I don’t know if this guy counts because he died at age 50 in 1959 but he was making movies right up to the end and had his own tv series in 1956 and there was the joke that he got fat that “He was having trouble buckling his Swash.” The man who defined “Swashbuckler,” Errol Flynn.
- Douglas Fairbanks? Maybe. Sound ruined his career because of his high voice.
Wait! No love for Yoda? Yes, big love for Yoda!

If he's on the list, I missed him. But Charles Bronson had a whole action movie career after 50 that most actors would only dream of. It almost overshadowed his pre-50 career. He'd be my pick.
And off screen, he was the real deal. He wasn't the type of on-screen tough guy who, once the director says cut, starts throwing hissy fits, "Why is my coffee so hot?! How many times have I told you Jarvis, I want my brown slippers after the shoot, not the blue ones! I hate my hair this way, fly in my own hairdresser from Beverly Hills!"

Good poll in many ways but -- I'm trying to stay polite here but I don't know how else to say it except that these exclusively male lists, not just by you, certainly, is getting really tiring. Men aren't a social minority, of course, so why separate them according to sex? There's a very justified reason to sometimes showcase women alone but there's no such reason, of course, with men: exclusively listing men simply further cements the idea of men as the normative or default, as well as the myth of binary sexes and genders. Giving it some thought is all I ask. : )
Bravo, though, for including some racial and ethnic minorities.

Unfortunately, Hollywood has no women "Action Heroes" in this age group. It's not me but, I cannot think of any except maybe Sigourney Weaver (Avitar) Can you tell me of any over the age of 50 that fit in? I wish there were more.

Hi,
rubyfruit76. You might want to elaborate further. Some people don't understand what what you are trying to convey. Using the word "myth" could be a major point of confusion. Is that what Wikipedia is calling it now?

Clint Eastwood for me. He has had some quality films after 1980, one of his last ones actually one of my favourite Eastwood movies is Gran Torino. Even as a washed up old man, he was still someone you didn't want to mess with.
