No Monkey business here......
Sunset Blvd. (1950)
I think that's my story.
A failed has "never" been pollwriter lying face down in The Clampett's Cement Pond.
Hills that is.
Seriously though, that is my absolute 1950's favorite re-watchable movie.
It never gets old.

Tough to pick one. The most realistic are “Sunset Blvd.” and “All About Eve”. The most clever at telling show biz history are “Singing In The Rain” and “There is no Buisness Like Show Buisness”.
But I think you are missing a rather popular one that is usually associated with Christmas. But make no mistake, “White Christmas” (1954) is about show business.

I also take it that Films about a vary different type of show Buisness model is not being considered for this list? The circus? I can name two film about the circus that was made during the 1950’s:
- Trapeze (1956) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049875/...
- The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044672/...

I hesitated a long time and when I made the list, I put the circus movies on the side because I wanted to focus on movies about Broadway and Hollywood, I mean show business not just the world of entertainment, otherwise, I would have to consider period movies like Moulin Rouge and I want to keep the  contemporary vibes of theater, television and motion pictures...
but maybe it can work, I'll think about it.

By the way, anyone would agree with these inclusions:

Some Like it Hot
Sweet Smell of Success
The Band Wagon

I agree with “The Bandwagon”.
When “White Christmas” being about show Buisness what do you think they are trying to do throughout the whole movie? They are trying to put together a show. The film shows rehearsals, and stage props being moved into place. The film starts with an homage to U.S.O. Shows to the troops in World War 2. By the fact that kaye’s character mentions to the general at Crosby’s character was a huge night club singer prior to WW2 give homage to the fact that many stars and pro athletes put their careers on hold to join the military and aid in the war effort. In real life, big band leader Glen Miller died in WW2 as he was touring with a special band while entertaining the troops in Europe. Director John Ford was shooting a training film for the navy at midway when the battle of Midway started and Ford filmmed actual footage of the battle.
“White Christmas” also states an actual tactic of a show going to Broadway which is to open the show off broadway on the road in order to see what works and what doesn’t and edit or tweet the show before it gets to broadway.
Also the film doesn’t ignore the fact that, at that time, nightclubs, and bars were still a major part of singers life trying to climb to stardom in the music side to show business.

I've re-checked the list thrice but still can't find these three:
Some Like It Hot (1959)
White Christmas (1954)
I Love Lucy (1951–1957)
how it can be, or lost idea for me? )))
Plus some more suggestions, as follows.

iconic for 1950s:

Shadows (1958)
Jailhouse Rock (1957)
The Glenn Miller Story (1954)

if an empty room:
Show Biz Bugs (1957)
King Creole (1958)
Lola Montès (1955)
Love Me or Leave Me (1955)
The Band Wagon (1953)
Summer Stock (1950)
Stage Fright (1950)

...oops, Some Like it Hot appered for discussion while was preparing these suggs...
Anyway, nothing is close to Singin' In the Rain -- the top leader )))

Lola Montès is a period 19th century film like Moulin Rouge, doesn't quite fit that poll' approach to show business.
Not too sure about Stage Fright, I added a few suggestions but...

Now I see... May be it's better understood when "Best Film About Show Business Set and Produced in 1950s". But so long, that truncated ;)

PS: it's also clear now that White Christmas was mentioned in the above discussion. So among the top suggs, I Love Lucy (TV-series) is left for me plus the three "iconics". The rest is very additional.

Not necessarily set in the 1950s, show business in the '50s wasn't much different from the '20s, and I can't have this poll without Singin' in the Rain (set in the 20s)

Best two are from 1950. There has not been or ever will be a year where two great films are so powerful and well written and directed. 'All About Eve' and 'Sunset Boulevard' both are brand new each time l see them for the 25th Time or more.
