Bill Holden escaped and when he got back, they talked him into leading a group of British Commandos back to where he had just escaped to blow up the Bridge on the River Kwai.

I know the film, one of my favorite war movies but I think it's to far-fetched to consider it a group-themed film because the core of the plot was the battle between the two officers and then the internal battle within Nicholson's own conscience and how his loyalty to the British flag and prestige ended up alienating him and ironically acting like a traitor... the mission and the group were only accessories to that spectacular and mind-blowing finale.
Then lets nominate for inclusion The Guns of Navaronne.

I am surprised to not see more Royal family or MI-6 films. I also would consider my most hated option, Spice World (1997) . It wasn't my cup of tea, but it might be somebody else's.
