Live Poll: Best Movie by a Jack of All Trades Director?

Inspired by Alfonso Cuarón newest movie, Roma. I listed movies that written, edited, produced, cinematographed by their Director (at least 4 of these fields). So what do you think? Which of them is the best movie due to the efforts of its director?

Worth to mention that some directors have multi features in this context, so I choose maximum two of them based on IMDB ratings. I hope no one dropped out, but If you have any more suggestion, I would be glad to add it to the list.

An interesting link - but I would go for "No Country For Old Men" - an outstanding movie

Good choice. I personally couldn't decide yet because many best movies are on the list, but Coen's masterpiece is one of them. Thanks for your comment ;)

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) George Lucas (I) (uncredited editor)
Modern Times (uncredited editor) City Lights (uncredited editor) The Circus (uncredited editor)  The Gold Rush (uncredited)  Charles Chaplin (uncredited editor)
Following (1998) Christopher Nolan
Monsters (2010) Gareth Edwards director, writer, cinematographer, production designer, visual effects
Fireproof (2008) Alex Kendrick
Clerks (1994) Kevin Smith
El Mariachi (1992) Robert Rodriguez
Eraserhead (1977) David Lynch
Night of the Living Dead (1968) George A. Romero
Pink Flamingos (1972) John Waters
The Endless Summer (1966) Bruce Brown
Catfish (2010) Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman

I think there are more than are listed. Most directors on their earliest films wore all four hats or more. See Low Budget Movies That Paid Off Big or Micro Budget Movies That Paid Off Big for the more notable examples. Plus, there are lot directors who went un-credited for editing or cinematography on bigger budget passion projects.  I also included some lists on the bottom that may include some other quadruple hat wearers.

As well as, some were jacks of all trades by acting, song writing, soundtrack or other roles that entailed a fourth, fifth  or more hats that they wore on a single project. If you wish to expand the types of roles, many are listed on these other poll suggestions for these projects. Such a helpful comment. I'm not sure how to thank you. All the suggestion (except: uncredited ones, documentaries and low ratings) added with your name.

I'm sure there are more titles but since the purpose of this list is for selecting the best movie, debuts mostly not fit.

About El Mariachi I didn't consider it because there are already two movies from Robert Rodriguez and I just put two best movies of any director in order to have a shorter list.

About the other hats, I think It's a good idea for future listings.

Your welcome, as I said there should be some more, if you do a bit a digging on the leads in those other poll suggestions. Also, I prefer no recognition  (Suggested by: urbanemovies).

FYI, best is a relative term, I recommend the only one that has it own movie about a
"Jack of All Trades" Plan 9 from Outer Space, Edward D. Wood Jr. as told in Ed Wood (1994). Other possibilities include several movies by Steven Soderbergh, David Lean and  The Last Movie (1971) by Dennis Hopper

???? George Lucas not listed despite
Editor (18 credits) Director (18 credits) Producer (68 credits) Writer (155 credits)

Actually, I dig in all links you send... in all cases; something didn't match. Many of them have three fields or less (especially in Steven Soderbergh works) or fields don't include this topic (for example actor or singer). Recognition also removed.

About BEST dialectic, I do not agree because this list is suggested for the poll and in the poll, I should have a Criterion. I think The best movie candidates should include at least one of these parameters: good rating on IMDB, good rating on Metacritic (or Rotten Tomatoes), high-number of voters (when a movie doesn't have 1K voters in rating, how could it compete against
Titanic with nearly 1M votes?")

About George Lucas Starwars,  as I mentioned before I can't find the Editor credit for him.

'Great poll! My vote will go to either 'City Lights' or 'No Country for Old Men.' May I suggest one small revision to the intro? ('in bold below; 'just added "Below are")

Below are movies that were written, edited, produced, cinematographed by their Director. Which of them is the best movie due to the efforts of its director?
