"The Great Escape (1963)" is prisoner of war camp movie. I'll include it in my next list. And not including animated films.

This is a good poll, especially for a first poll. My vote: Midnight Express. Bravo for constructing this poll so well.
The intro. is good but I would suggest deleting the first two sentences: they're unnecessary (the first sentence repeats information in the title and the second explains something that is easily understood) and they're not complete sentences. The third sentence is such a good one that I'd suggest starting with that one. It makes a strong, definitive, statement concisely. Likewise, the rest of the intro. is very good, so I'd omit the weak parts so it reads:

I guess it shows the intelligence level of the average user that the greatest 'escape' film ever made is in last place. Pity.
This is a tricky case because one of the most popular movies of all-time happens to feature a very elaborate and clever escape plan, you can't make better than a plan that also anticipated the aftermath (how to get the hell out with money and false papers etc. etc.)
So I'm not even sure there was a suspense in this question, the winner was obvious from the start. I wish most people would see "Le Trou" because it's perhaps the best escape plan in terms of 'creativity'.
And I don't think there was any plan in "Midnight Express".

There was plan in "Midnight Express" if you look at middle part movie when they were digging hole on wall and trying to escape. But making escape plane take patience, time and has high risk.
The Great Escape cannot be omitted from this poll!
