Designer Bill Gold, who revolutionized the art of the movie poster over a seven-decade career that began with Casablanca (1942) and included A Clockwork Orange (1971), The Exorcist (1973) and some of the most iconic and eye-catching posters of cinema's history, has died at the age of 97.

Thank you for creating this poll. I was saddened when I read about Bill Gold's death yesterday. Mr. Gold created so many great posters that it's hard to choose. Today I'm inclined to choose Casablanca's poster, but could easily choose many of the others.

When I realized the extent of this man's work, as a movie fan, I felt truly ashamed, it's one thing not to know who made which poster, but not to be even aware of the name of this legend... I hate when I only know about someone important, only after his/her death. Anyway, I didn't think twice, I wanted to pay a tribute... I also realized that his peak coincided with the late 60's and 70's, which is also my favorite cinematic period :)

Maybe "Casablanca" would be a better (and more fitting) starter than "Clockwork"
