Cringe comedy is comedy based on embarrassing situations with awkward characters who say the wrong thing at the wrong time, sometimes to the degree of making you watch through your fingers.

Which of these TV shows do you find so cringe-worthy that it is hard to watch?

I actually stopped watching The Comeback because it was so good that I couldn't bear to watch.

I was just watching President Trump, and I realized I had the same feeling as watching The Comeback. Will cringe comedy survive President Trump?

Personally, I don't feel like Kimmy, Mindy or Modern Family are cringe-inducing.

FYC:
Californication
It's Always Sunny...
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret
Arrested Development

Thanks, I found those on some of the lists I checked, but I'll edit the list based on the feedback.

Based on your description, the first show I expected to see was Jackass. But I see what you mean, I'm a naturally shy person and get easily embarrassed when something awkward is happening or when someone gets embarrassed in front of me. I can't watch shows like Pop Idol or X factor because of that. Cringe worthy stuff (even for the sake of laughs) isn't the kind of things I'm looking for...

... this is why I was surprised to find Malcolm in the Middle, one of my all-time favorite sitcoms. Yes, the characters were awkward and twisted but I don't remember any real cringe-worthy moment. If that's the kind of moments, you mean (see below), i think it's pure comedy gold and not embarrassing at all:

Jump to 3:35 and 16:15 for some cringing comedy.

The first episode had to establish that we weren't dealing with the typical family sitcom, if I recall correctly, it was the 1st live action sitcom without the laughing track. So maybe they created more awkward situations than usual, but it was never "embarrassing" because it was played for laughs... the 'boobs' situation was awkward until the teacher mentions them and then the mom goes "yours must be prettier", the joke always breaks the ice on that level and never keeps that really awkward and creepy aspect. Anyway, I just wish you'd enjoy the show if you didn't before.

For me, the kind of thing Peter was describing was the kind of situations where you'd see girls discussing their period or something like that. "Malcolm" had its awkward moments but they were always hilarious and family-oriented.

The definition I had in mind is the one widely found online, including Wikipedia. Malcolm in the Middle may not be a leading example, but is included in some lists:

Peter,

I'm not suggesting that you add this show, but I personally found Leave It to Beaver (1957–1963) cringeworthy. I especially found the character of Eddie Haskell and Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver's naive view of the world.

If you ever decide to make a companion poll for film, many of the Andy Hardy films, such as Love Finds Andy Hardy, are filled with cringeworthy moments.

While I never made it through the whole original British Office (yet) I thin the American version did it better in my opinion. I think making the boss more likable is a good call because then you feel worse when something happens. That and the set is so dry and grey I feel less cringe and more dead inside. Like it isn't a hospital.
