Maybe you should specify the box office gross of each film...

Yes, I instantly thought of that. I was a little fast to not lose the idea. But I completed it the last half an hour. Thank you for the idea of naming the amounts, which is excellent. I just hope, that I've done the right form of naming the amounts. If not, I could need advice.

When this poll should be taken live, it should be taken fast, otherwise the last option my not be an option any longer. It can be shortened step by step down to two the first two options, the longer it needs to be chosen. If chosen to late, the whole idea is invalid.

corrected upper matter:

It can be shortened step by step down to two the first two options, if it needs longer to decide. If decided to late, the whole idea is invalid. So it needs at least a moderate fast decision. Y/N :D

Thank you for your fast reaction. I corrected the typos you mentioned. The title contains the word "Boxoffice", which is bound together. Shouldn't "Boxoffice" be spelled as "Box-Office" or "Box Office"? Please don't get me wrong. I just try to get the inherent logic of the grammar. Didn't change the title yet.

box office, not Box Office or Boxoffice, sorry again. ;) Learned something new:
(about it's and its):
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/usage/its-or-it-s
So I corrected the it's in the Intro to its.
Guess I had that 30 years ago in English lessons, maybe.

Breumaster,

Thank you for making the corrections.

"box office" is the preferred form.

Compare:
https://www.onelook.com/?w=box+office&ls=a
https://www.onelook.com/?w=boxoffice&ls=a&loc=home_ac_Boxoffice

https://www.onelook.com/?w=box-office&ls=a

The title should be:
Face-Off: 'Avengers: Endgame' Box Office Prediction

The intro and question should be:
Please give us your prediction: How big do you think will the box office result of 'Avengers: Endgame' rise in its playtime?

or this alternative:
Please give us your prediction: What do you expect will be the total worldwide box office for 'Avengers: Endgame' during its original run?

:D My French is very more worse as my English up to to non existant. But I thought of learning Spain. Many people in the word speak Spain on all western continents. And if you speak Spain, you nearly can talk Italian, too. Because these two languages are like Germen and Switzer German. These two languages have a close relation. But it's a nice fact, that French always sounds like a hug, even if you swear on someone. ;D

But if the movie crossed the billion mark in its debut weekend, isnt there a mathematical certainty that its gonna beat the Avatar record?

I think it could be, but it's interesting, what other people think. 'Avatar' rose compareably slow for a big production, but also continuosly stable over a few month. That lead to its tremendous result at the box office. I formerly heard people say something like: It will never cross the line of one billion.

That doesn't say that it has the highest as can quality, but says many about its popularity, a factor which is not useless. It's also interesting for me, how many people would think how big or comparably mediocre it will rise at last, aren't you interested in? :D Maybe this time it's vice versa? Fast run fast break. That happened some times before. Mainly at fan-driven runs, e.g. 'Transformers', something like that.

This is Box Office Mojo's comparison of 'Avengers: Endgame' with recent Star Wars films and other Avenger films:
https://www.boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=basic&id=avengersvstarwars.htm

Using the other films as a very crude basis for forecasting the total box office:
$2,614,704,440.03 The Avengers
$2,838,592,027.98 Avengers: Infinity War
$2,978,600,628.34 Star Wars: The Force Awakens
$2,162,951,191.20 Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Avengers: Infinity War is probably the best predictor of 'Endgame' total box office. However, there are lots of caveats regarding this very crude analysis. 'Endgame' could easily have burned through the majority of attendance during the first weekend. We should have a better sense of the total box office after next weekend and even more after a few weeks.

Thank you for this interesting information. I think you're totally right. It's to early to make a safe prediction. After maybe one, better two weeks, the tendency will be more clear. If it's better to keep lesser options on the list, I'll erase the smaller from the list. Less then 1,6 bn seems a little small. Less then 2 bn seems to be a more realistic option. It might be a more interesting question, if it reaches 3bn or not.
I'll try something on the list.

Ok, deleted option #5. Now it seems a little more realistic.
I could also cut it down to the first two options.
I wonder, if only the first two options would be a better poll suggestion.

On a matter of principle I don't click unknown site, suggested by users I don't really know. And you shouldn't either, specially when you are sitting on your parents PC (which I don't know).  Your father could get a red head, if his bank accounts were slurped empty by evil forces. I checked it on Norton, seems to be ok. :)

It's not only a ot of money. It's what people want to see.
If Hitchcock would have been honored about what people like, he would have got some Oscars. But he was only nominated 5 times, except the Irvin Thalberg Award, which he finally won.

I made a little ratio calculation by dividing pro through contra time by time.
pro-votes : contravotes = X
At the beginning X rised very high, later it came down to 6.0
A time later it had a medium peak at 6.2, later came down to 5.2
Later it came back to 5.5 and holded for a few weeks, now it rises slowly.

Far from that: I guess it will break the record within 2 weeks.
