Lawrence of Arabia gets my vote.

Honestly, though, I think that'd win. It's immensely popular. Still, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Might be a split vote for the two Bond films and yeah, Lawrence of Arabia at the top :)

wow...talk about a tough choice...

i grew up seeing these films in the theatres...this was back when malcolm mcdowell and michael caine were everywhere...brilliant stuff...

and these are all such great films...'alfie'...'if'...'the ipcress files'...'dr.no'...'a hard day's night'...

any vote would be a squeaker here, but...i think i'll have to go with 'the italian job'...still remember seeing that classic ending and cheering in the theatre...

I voted for Zulu.

You have the wrong version of Far from the Madding Crowd in your poll, it says 2015.

Woops can we correct this without "undermining" the poll, or should I just specify it in the descriptive text?

I think you can replace the option with the correct film (if you move it to the same position) and have it re-pushed without problems.

I voted for Oliver!, but my personal favorite is not on the list -  The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.  Dame Maggie Smith  won the Best Actress Oscar for her role, and deservedly so. I consider her performance one of the very best of all time. The rest of the cast is wonderful, as well, particularly Pamela Franklin. The storyline itself is nothing special, but it's a must-watch just for the performances and witty dialogue.

Edit: I see it is not on the BFI 100 list of the greatest British films of the 20th century, Sorry!

I voted for A Hard Day's Night, but I believe The Party is by far the best British film of the decade - certainly the funniest.
