Live Poll: Favorite "Canimated" Movie

Don't try to look up the word on the Webster dictionary, it's just an arbitrary combination of the words "canine" and "animated", canine referring to animals such as dogs, wolves, foxes, coyotes, uh... jackals, who play a significant part to the story and aren't just a demographic portion of an animal-related universe.

Which of these canine-themed animated films (one per series) is your favorite?

ElM,

101 Dalmatians (1961) and Lady and the Tramp (1955) were two of the first films I saw in a movie theater. My first public viewing of a film was at a drive-in movie theater. That film was Visit to a Small Planet (1960).

My vote:
Lady and the Tramp (1955)

I love it when a simple suggestion awakens sweet memories such as those you just shared... you grew up in a time where going to the theater meant something, I imagine a Disney short cartoon before the big picture, the news segment, the intermissions, a bucket of popcorn costing 0.00001 $ etc. etc.

'Sweet poll. 101 Dalmations. I love the title and your invented word - and wouldn't be surprised if it caught on and showed up in the Oxford a few years down the line. : )

May I suggest one tiny edit to the intro? (colon instead of comma, in bold)

Thanks ruby, I'm just surprised I could only come up with 10 titles, pretty sure we can make it to 20.

ElM,

Sadly, someone else coined the term "canimated" before you did. Although in the case of this coinage, canimated is a blending of Canada and animation.
http://canimated.ca/

By the way, the technical term for a word based on blending two or more words is portmanteau.
https://www.onelook.com/?w=portmanteau&ls=a&loc=home_ac_portmanteau

noun:  a new word formed by joining two others and combining their meanings ("`motel' is a portmanteau word made by combining `motor' and `hotel'")

I like your introduction as it stand. I would rather you not change it to add to add the word portmanteau.

I came across the word portmanteau after years of watching Jeopardy!

When you put portmanteau in the sentance that's the first thing that came to me was Jeopardy too, Dan. LOL

I'll try another portmanteau when the opportunity arises... the combo with "Canada" sounds more appropriate, maybe "danimation" then? cartoons from Denmark?

Come on ev'rybody, I say now let's play a game
I betcha I can make a rhyme out of anybody's name
The first letter of the name
I treat it like it wasn't there
But a "B" or an "F" or an "M" will appear
And then I say "Bo" add a "B" then I say the name
Then "Bo-na-na fanna" and "fo"
And then I say the name again with an ""f" very plain
Then "fee fi" and a "mo"
And then I say the name again with an "M" this time
And there isn't any name that I can't rhyme
Arnold! Arnold, Arnold bo-bar-nold
Bo-na-na, fanna fo-far-nold
Fee fi m-mar-mold. Arnold!

ElM,
Danimation does have a certain ring to it.

Although this was produced in England, at least the location is Denmark.

Dan Dassow I once did a short film named Mishanimation (2016) (it badly needs an update on IMDb and it's also one of those titles which were made by me, but added by someone else). Interesting part is that someone commented yesterday because their channel name was basically the same and they were utterly confused to see my experimental piece sharing a name with their light-hearted animation channel.

The title is also a portmanteau of a shortened name (Misha = Mikhail or Mykhailo) and a word "animation". :)

A few of them were theatrical releases.

There's also a recent one, The Peanuts Movie (2015).
