In what has to be one of, if not, the single greatest acting ensemble performances of all-time, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) is one of only two films to be nominated in every eligible category at the Academy Awards. WAOVW was nominated for 13 Academy Awards, including all of the film's four main actors being nominated in their respective acting categories.

So whose performance in this classic was your favorite?

Oh, 'good one! It's so hard to decide. I love polls that make me deliberate and also wonder about the results. I might end up voting for the person who is getting the least number of votes.
A better idea would be too watch it again and decide (if I can) -- and that gives me an excuse to watch a movie instead of doing a bunch of work. : )

Good point Ruby! This film really was a marvel to watch and tour-de-force performances from all 4 leads. I think it will be a close tie between George and Martha but I guess that's the fun in seeing for ourselves...

Thanks for your comment and I agree, much better than work :)

couldn't agree more...don't know how this one got passed me before going live, but this is one of my all time favorite films and i'm glad that all four actors are highlighted...

one thing to note also is the brilliant screenplay, which gave these four so much to work with...

but my vote here goes to richard burton as george...so incredibly powerful...

they don't make actors like that anymore...

Hey Kyle, may I suggest one small edit? ('Just omitting the "if not" and the commas around it -- I know what you're getting at but it doesn't actually say that and I can't think of a way to say it that would sound as good as the rest of the intro and also be concise.)

In what has to be one of the greatest acting ensemble performances of all-time...

Also, is the link back working? When I originally commented on this, it worked, but now it takes me to a completely unrelated IMDb site. I'm using a brand new laptop, however, so it might just be some glitch in my computer -- or my brain, lol.

Thanks.

Thanks for the input Ruby - I will correct the "if not" part of the intro; I know what you mean, it didn't sound right but I always remember what my dad taught me about using a word/phrase in between two commas - if you can take away the part in between the two commas i.e. ....,"___",.... the sentence will still make sense logically. I guess I got two stuck on that rule :P

Also, is the link back working?

It looks to be fine on my end, I'd double check that computer of yours - as far as I can see, your brain is in perfect condition!

Hahaha, thank you but my brain has plenty of glitches. It reminds me that lately I've had this habit of forgetting to put link-backs on my lists. You'd think I'd be able to do that in my sleep by now, lol, but Jess has had to remind me several times. My brand new laptop seems to also have glitches, though, which, especially because it's an Apple, makes me feel a little better about my brain.

Oh, and you're totally right about commas. My only question was about what was inside those commas, but, you know, it could have been my computer or brain. :-)

I remember Taylor's performance best, but it's been a while.

The discussion link seems to work fine. It brought me here :)

Your intro is somewhat incorrect. There is one more film that had all eligible acting performances nominated. It was Give 'em Hell, Harry!, a one-man film starring James Whitmore.

Jen,

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who%27s_Afraid_of_Virginia_Woolf%3F_(film):

The film was nominated for thirteen Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Mike Nichols, and is one of only two films to be nominated in every eligible category at the Academy Awards (the other being Cimarron).

That's amazing that you have almost 180,000 votes -- bravo! That's so fast: wasn't it just last summer that you were asking me about your first poll suggestions? I could tell then, though, that you were a natural. Well done, Kyle, especially because you don't just go for easy votes; you make really smart, creative polls. Applause, applause. :)

Thank you Ruby! Yep, it was exactly July 17, 2016 when my first poll idea went live (it was also one I was working on for a few days): http://www.imdb.com/poll/crzJMitB0h0/?ref_=po_ho. I can still remember the excitement I had when it was published. You were helping me refine the options a bit and taught me the ins and outs of poll making; how to maximize their potentials, to make them more user-intuitive etc. It would be cool to hit 200k before that date this year but I don't know how possible that'd be. Either way, it's been so much fun and it's nice to see the core of our community still together. :)
