groovyvic,

My vote: The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965)

- - -

I know of nothing that would prohibit using underscores for a poll title. Unless we get guidance from the IMDb editors to the contrary, I see no problem with your title. I personally like the construct because it is clear and concise.

Which is your favourite "The Sword and the ___" title and your favourite "The Cowboy and the ___" title? I feel I should only put one of each so it isn't too redundant

"Movie Star" is not a word. It's a pair of words, and perhaps it's a term.

Yeah, and I'm strategically ordering my list by grouping certain types of titles together, and "The Sword and the Rose" works beautifully beside "The Blade and the Silk" so that's the one I'm using. But u can still pick the Cowboy one ACT_1

Roger Corman is one of my biggest filmmaking inspirations. Many of his movies are unexpectedly thoughtful and good and sometimes it gets hard to notice that they were filmed in like four days on leftover sets with script mostly improvised and a few protégés then filming additional sequences in their backyards and elsewhere (The Terror fits that description and safe for a few mild goofs that movie holds up pretty well). Fewer directors and producers are close to him in that matter, although works of Albert Pyun that are more on hit side then miss are clearly contenders.

The poll is just based on which title you like, but I will change it to the original because the remakers don't deserve the credit

And perhaps you should include The Prince and the Pauper (1937).

I would remove The Doctor and the Playgirl (1963), which has no IMDb ratings and probably hasn't been seen by poll voters.

wow how did my brain/the search engine overlook the first two.

I was adding The Prince and the Pauper the other day but when I was typing, 'The Prince and the Showgirl' came up which I preferred.

And good thing watching a movie isn't required to form an opinion about its title

Fair enough if you think one 'Prince' is enough.

I forgot that you were asking about the titles specifically. Though I guess most people will still vote for films they are familiar with.

Yeah I had to look up what Pauper means to be honest, and I don't think either title is a strong enough competitor to bother using both.

And I agree they're more likely to go with familiar ones, but the highest votes on any movie is around 300,000 and lots of other movies have less than 1000 or than 100 so I think it doesn't have much worse odds than those movies (based on math). Also, a lot of familiar movies have good titles which gets people to watch in the first place.
