As much as I like this poll idea, there are far more than 35 great guitarists, and it would almost be easier (not to mention more fair) to make several lists and divide them into genres (rock, progressive rock, classical, jazz, blues, country etc.). Or maybe limit this list to living guitarists, but that would mean dropping a lot of great names...
I think The Edge probably also belongs in your list, but then you'd have to remove three names, and I can't even recommend two that would seem like the "right" choices.
Another option is to make this into a Poll Board Favorite Guitarists; that way there could be no unfair omissions since we would all pick our favorites. But I don't know if you would get enough options for that to work as a poll.
