A lot of Movies use a narrative instead of dialogue as the opening
scene of a motion picture. Some have images. Some do not. Sometimes
spoken. Sometimes not. However the director chose to frame the opening of these movies, they are the most memorable of the 1950s and 60s.

Ed, no need for any personal privileges, so I insist please exclude the two if you did this for me rather than for the options themselves (and if it was not the inner "jokester" of yours).
Anyway, since my suggestions are completely in the frame of "Greatest Opening Narrations [monologue] of the 1950s and 1960s", and are widely acclaimed to be memorable (I checked inet for this after your previous reply), and objectively are much greater for a descriptive poll when compared to such options as "(title card) Once upon a time" (more than one in your initial list of 19), you clearly uninvited me for further help in making your polls less personal and more complete for public needs. Thank you, now I have more time for the polls of mine.

This instantly came to mind. Sunset Boulevard was my first thought.
Then others that were on the list sprang back to life after having my memory jogged while reading them all.
There are so many good ones here.
Sunset may take #1.
I will probably rearrange the order a bit so as to give others a chance at garnering a few deserved votes.
